I've just become a father

i have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.

things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.

my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.

A mother's love

this came on the news yesterday, valentine's day.

parents with two children in the car got stuck in the floods here in australia.

father and the four year old made it to safety but the mother with her baby was caught in the water and left clinging to a tree keeping her baby safe.

This came on the news yesterday, Valentine's day.

Parents with two children in the car got stuck in the floods here in Australia. Father and the four year old made it to safety but the mother with her baby was caught in the water and left clinging to a tree keeping her baby safe. She was so exhausted by the time rescue came in her efforts to keep her baby safe that she collapsed moments after she and her baby were rescued. Unfortunately they could not revive her and she died.

What a mum. What a terrible loss for her family and friends.

Female Adults Praying In The Company of Male Children

just a simple question.. within the jws, if a woman needs to pray for the group because no baptized man is present, she has to cover her head as a mark of respect/submission (take your pick).

it applies even if the male is a young child.

my question is, does the rule still apply if there's a male baby present?

Were You Ever Snubbed In The Hall & Didn't Know Why???

were you ever treated by the elders, their families and "the friends" in a way that made you feel you were unwanted?.

there's probably nothing worse than realizing that you are not being treated with the same dignity and love as others.

once we come out of the organization, we expect better but sadly the real world can be cruel too.

Yes, the worst time was when I was sharing a flat with an Elder's daughter. I had been sick and my meeting attendance for the had gone down hill. When I got back to the hall I noticed I was being treated differently. I finally asked a MS who wife was a friend. He said he didn't know why but there were things being said against me but wouldn't say who. I finally found out it was the girl I was sharing an apartment with. She was telling people I wasn't ill I just didnt want to come. At the time I was just having trouble getting to work and back. I'd come in at the end of the day and go straight to bed and sleep for 12-14 hours a night.

I was also a convenient scapegoat. Whenever she did something that people disapproved of she'd blame me. Watched a movie/tv show some one disapproved of, oh no it wasn't her idea it was mine. Got seen somewhere she shouldn't be, oh she was just picking me up as a favour (how she could pick me up when I was home in bed.....) etc etc.

When I found out I went and got the jug of ice water from the fridge and upended it over the top of the shower when she was having a shower. The really weird thing was that she never said a thing about the ice cold drenching...... but she did steal my furniture later.

Kate Bush, I had to get rid of one of her albums as it contained "Wuthering Heights" which was about ghosts..... I really loved that album.

John Farnham - because a ministerial servant and his wife went to one of his concerts and said afterwards that he told really disgusting jokes and they had to get up and leave so we all had to get rid of our Farnham albums but it didn't bother me that much as I wasn't a big fan.

John Denver (urban legend). I was told his ex wife was a JW and that is why he hates witnesses.

Anything that could be considered "heavy metal"
