IF you were a study was there a set amount you owed for the magazines and other publications you recieved.

Is there any pictures of magazines/books with a price printed on them, or an order form prices.

Ive tried to explain the swaggert aspect but of course, it just some apostate fraud from the internet.

Is manned space exploration a waste of money?

i was watching a program the other day, and it mentioned some interesting things about exploring space.

1. nothing has been found on other planets that we need or would benefit from.

rather the opposite, we have found hostile environments that would kill us.. 2. the cost to get a man to these places is astronomical, and not something that would reap benefit to our planet.. 3. so far, nothing within reasonable traveling distance has shown itself worth an effort that would require man, and would not be done easier with machine.. so with this in mind, other then the travel we see with the space shuttle in our own orbit, that has shown some medical breakthroughs and so on.

I havent read appocalypse delayed, I am thinking of getting it and captive of a concept. Honestly though I am tired of reading about it. The more evidence the more frustrating it gets. I just want her to want to read this stuff. But Im a sucker so I will end up reading it and spoon feeding it to her.

She is a long term bible study, not babtized but of course confesses that if she was only worthy she would be babtized. Its only taken about a year or so, but we are now on chapter 8. However she has convinced herself that all the reprints are frauds, somehow they are out of context or forged. Even when they are proven to be true, she is sure that there is two sides of the story and pulls out the proclaimers book. This has backfired on her especially witht the Beth Sarim stuff. However she refuses to get the point, and parrots the wtbs. "It is gods organization, but there just imperfect men and some times make mistakes" then she convinces herself that those who made the mistake are no longer part of the organization. Hence the leading of the horse to water.

DS, I was afraid that it might be as you described, even scarier is the effectiveness. I hear my GF reciting there excuses verbatum. Always blaming the contorversy on those that "fell away". it is her primary source to refudiate anything critical of the WTBS especially CoC. I dont think she fully grasps contoveries, its easier to just explain them away as new light. Talk about leading a horse to water.

good point, that may be the key. There has been several occasions where she asks '' if this is not the truth then what is?" The only problem that beyond telling her the simple answere "jesus", most churches dont pretend to have all the answeres and have everything figured out. Many times they offer their opinion or perspective. There is much more uncertainty on many things. I would like her to see the point of view of the salvation by grace aspect of christianity.

I guess i just want her to think for herself, and not have the need to be spoonfed canned answers.

thanks, Im definently doing the challenging the history, and trying to use the bible to show they are not a credible source of anything. I agree Ankerberg seems like he is a con-man, but thought maybe she would relate to the women in the video. If there are other videos from a female perspective that go through the false prophecy and changing doctrine. I would love to know about them. Im going to start a new thread, about CoC vs. The proclaimers book.

Has anyone viewed this video? Im considering purchasing it for my gf, who is a long term book study. She is reluctantly reading CoC not sure if it is helping or hurting. I thought maybe seeing a video from former witnessess who are all women might allow her to sympathize. She might then try to understand they are not just some confused (evil) apostate. Right now she seams enamored with her study conductors and people at her congregation. Im not sure if this is just love bombing, the fact that she really does know them on a personal level, or simply so caught up she wont see their hypocricy. Anyhow if someone could recomend this It would compell me to spend the 40$ on a vhs tape.
