Can you adopt me? :P .
I too am thankfull for some things. No drugs, acohol, or trouble with the cops. But being lied to is not the way to teach children right from wrong. There are better ways to raise children right, and no field service time required (mom counts any bibles studies she does with me as time...good thing we don't do that anymore, or else she'd get bonus time for all the arguing we'd do) .

This discussion board is just the medicine I needed
by Backed away ina big thank you to those who created this board and for all the amazing people who post here.. truth be told (no pun intended) i have seen other religious boards out there but never felt compelled to join since i didn't feel qualified to speak one way or the other regarding their beliefs.
this board is another story.
i was raised as a witness but never thought so many people all over the world had a similiar past as i did.

A 'battle' is won
by Anony-Mouse inmom has commented twice recently that she is attracted to men with gotees.
anyways, i read here that beards are not at all banned in the bible (every picture of the bible folks they draw has bearded men), and that it was banned by some power hungery dude in the olden days of the jws (can't remember all those names, erased them from my memory).
well, i ask her if i can have one, despite never wanting that on my face.

I don't know why she does, nor will I ever.

Well, I ask her if I can have one, despite never wanting that on my face. She of course, says no.
I ask why, and she says its not 'culturaly acceptable'. That's the thinest explaination I've ever seen her give, and she didn't defend it.
Both times she stopped talking to me entirely. It's obvious she know's its a stupid rule. Beards never seemed to 'stumble' people when Jesus was around.
Anyways, next on the list is blood. I've been reading a lot about it around here, and it sounds like something good enough to make her think. Maybe a "Can I donate blood?"
I have no diseases, and it might actually help someone...and I've always been curious about my blood type :P . -

Emerald and the Treadmill~ Mothers chuckle!~
by Sparkplug inok, she told me she learned a valuable lesson.

Her eyes look just like mine :O .
But I don't remember having a kid...
Nor have I ever had the urge to flip out on a treadmill.

Lot and his daughters, lol.
Elijah and the kids. Yeah, it reads like it was 2 or 3 kids, then the bears went off and ate "40 of thier number". I guess Elijah forgot to turn the bears off after the first few :P .
But that's always been my favorite. God hates children ^^ . -

Got a question and tell me what you think....
by Flowerpetal inok, i'm going back some 40 years into the organization so some of you may or may not have heard this.
i remember in my jw life, at different conventions/assemblies when the speakers would be talking about things related to the paradise earth.
they would always say, "if you pictured yourself there, then you will no doubt be there.".

I'm agnostic for the sole reason that I can't proove any religion wrong.
Sure, I *think* they're wrong, and will never serve any of them, but that doesn't make me right. -

Just noticed something odd:
Outlaw: Post 4838 of 4839
unclebruce: Post 4837 of 4839
Anyways...
This forum's purpose is whatever you want it to be. Saddness, fear, hate, and many other emotions can be shared by all. It helps comfort those in need of a shoulder to cry on.
And then there's apostate stuff :P . -

They say money is the root of all evil.
It goes deeper than that.
Selfishness is the root of 'most' evil.
I say most because, even though one person sees something as evil, another does not.
A person that washes thier hands with antibacterial soap could be considered evil. They killed millions of bacteria.
And there is unintentional evil, such as Bush bombing innocent civilians. It is up to the people wronged whether it was evil, or a complete accident.
Mental illness can play a part. A psychopath might kill someone, and not realize it's wrong.
Personally, I think any harm done to another human being, and especially killing them, is evil. If it was an accident, you can be forgiven. And if it was in self defense, or in the defense of another, it can be forgiven.
But devil? I doubt if there was, he would have thought up nuclear bombs... -
