Do you find the Jan 15-08 WT disturbing?

i have now read the jan 15-08 about 3 times.

every time that i do, i get madder and madder.

here are some things that i find disturbing.

If god give humans freedom,then why do they need to preach from d-to-d for their salvation? If it's a command than you don't have freedom.Also I think the directive not to eat of the apple was just that, because that apple was poison and had nothing to do with rulership or svereignty.Why put the temptation right in the middle of the garden where they could see every day.It's like a mother putting a jar of cookies in the middle of the table and telling her children not to eat any.dumb,crazy idea.

PS If it's such an ugent lifesaving work, than why is Sam hell don't they use modern means to get this message out.When a hurricane or a tornado is about to hit what does the gov't do.Oh,they send all their public people door to door to warn everybody because it the most effective way.Those that aren't home get a tract reminder that the storm will hit in a few hours and they have to leave right away.Why do those b$$#%^ tell their r&f to have a battery operated RADIO so they can listen in case of an emergency. Also their propaganda could be broadcast in countries where they are band w/o presecution.

NEED HELP WITH 'NEW LIGHT' & THE GENERATION DOCTRINE

i was talking to gumby today and he told me that one elder that he knows said: "...he heard a gb mention of some new light about the "generation".

he said the gb member said they now believe that scripture applied to only the annointed...".

have we had any discussions on jwd about this?

Career JW's and WTBTS Wellfare(sp)?

just a thought.....what if a career jw were to do everything that the borg told him to the letter?

for example, pioneer then get a job as a janitor at night.

lets say that they do this until retirement with no retirement benefits because they didn't work full time .

I believe their latest wt/a has something about how jw are not like the world when it comes to money.They don't gamble,drink,waste money on immortal movies,drugs,parties,etc,etc.Oh,yeah the new system is just around the corner,oh,so close,soon ,any minute.Store up treasures in heaven where no one can steal your hard earn salvation. Work hard going from door to door.They don't waste money on fancy trips,sports,latest fads.

i would like to know - what do they do with the 'old light' books?

does it not occur to them that they have a pile of books that they are not allowed to read?

They use old books for study sessions to keep r&f busy.Ex.The old Revelation book 1988 edition with a new 2006 printing of the book with a whole slew of changes.p159 para.18 "The Finished Mystery book of 1917.In time,though,this book proved to be unsatisfactory as an explanation of Revelation."Than on p165 para.16 GET THIS...."In 1917 the Bible Students published The Finished Mystery, a powerful commentary on Revelation and Ezekiel."Unbelieveable.I don't know what happened the to light.Maybe a powerful unsatisfactory commentary on Revelation.

What a BIG hypocrite.Why do they sent people to university to get a law degree.Oh,he wouldn't qualify to go to court and defend WBTS money.Look at past KM when they want and need qualified people to work at Bethel,ie Doctors.Lawyers,Engineers,Computer programmers,etc,etc.ALL HIGHLY EDUCATED.

The illustration about the OCD attempted suicide.That illustration was given at a CA and the sickos burst out in laughter.I said to myself, how sad you people to laugh at someones handicap.So sad,so sad.

Why do we have to talk about what happened to us?

i just watched reign over me.

adam sandler has come a long way as an actor, and i thought he did very well portraying the feelings someone has who keeps the pain of emotional tragedy inside.

i'll never feel ok about all the damage caused by me when i was at my worst.. the movie also made me think about me and my relationships and us as a group of people affected by something so tragic in some cases.

Very good post wonderlustguy.Also everyone that replied.Being on this forum is like being in a big room everyone visiting and talking to one another.We all have the same thing in common.It's nice that we can vent our true feeling with each other and not get knocked down and kicked like a poor dog by a mad man(wbts).
