  i wanted to reply on his post but i can't so here is my reply.. face reality elpiro.as long as there are despicable persons like hilter,stalin,etc.. we need a well equipt army to defeat scum like that.i am very thankful for the brave soldiers who did just that.. otherwise elpiro you and i would not have the freedom we do today.your 100 plus years of preaching has not brought that freedom.we need to face reality that we still have dictators today and that we need the army.. elpiro did you know that stalin said "religion needed to be removed under communist society"and that the orthodox church suffered greatly.tens of thousands of priests,monks and nuns were persecuted and killed,over 100,000 were shot during the purge.. elpiro are you not happy that the usa won the cold war.elpiro do you think they would of won the cold war w/o an army.are you not happy for the freedom that the russians have today.just think even your religion can now fight them in the courts today.do you think they could under communist rule?.

  the whole "spying" thing and the cameras and secret recordings in shower stalls and toilets is nutty!.

  So tell me why do they have Elders hanging out until the wee hours outside some brothers apartment or flat to see if he is screwing around.It has been noted the they would go as far a know if girl/boy are related ie bro/sis,cousins etc living in the same flat..They would know this by watching who comes and goes from that place.Oh yeah they got spys alright.They even would have someone from another cong (not to draw attention) fallow a new dunked one to see if they could fine that one living up to their rules.

  while the whole world of christianity waits and longs for the 2nd advent of jesus because it will bring their reward.... jehovah's witness already had theirs!

  they simply declared that "jesus is back!".

  1914 was the date assigned.. true, jesus was invisible.. true, armageddon didn't come.. true, the world went on spinning as before.. but, 1914 was date certain and remains so.. instead, jehovah's witnesses starting treating armageddon the same way mainstream christianity treats the 2nd coming.. it's coming any minute!.

  Why I Like the "Proclaimers" Book

  while it is true that the "proclaimers" book is not always as open and honest about the society's history as it claims to be, it is open and honest enough to bring into question the society claim to being god's organization.

  it's a matter of (1) knowing what to look for, (2) where to find it and then, (3) to be able get the sense of what it means.. take for example the extremely important matter of the second coming of christ.... on the top of page 47 the book truthfully explains how president charles russell came to believe that jesus returned invisibly in 1874 to begin his second coming ("invisible presence").

  and then a careful reading of the footnote on page 133 shows that the date of jesus' return was not changed to 1914 until 1943.. it is likely that even if some witnesses notice that fact, they do not get the sense of what it means.

  we did pars 17-20 last week.

  this week, the co is in town, and my conductor is having him sit in.

  NEVER.NEVER,NEVER try to dispute their (WT) ideas or their beliefs of the bible.You will get nowhere.Total waste of time.INSTEAD.

  Ask questions such as:What happens after I get baptised and I disagree with the Faithful Slave/GB?What happens when one mate is not in the truth,Can they take their children to their church every Sunday?Can they take their children to Xmas parties or participate in sports?What about employment can I work on a Catholic church?What if my un-JW mate wants me to go to church.Can I give blood since JW say it is ok to take /steal someone elses blood fraction?

  Questions them on things that will drive them crazy.

  Does God Create Evil?

  the view held by christian theology is that god did not create evil.

  you may argue this point using scripture to support either side.

  however that argument is but a symptom of a much larger problem which is choice and free will.. the concept among christians is that sin, suffering, and evil deeds began with the original sin.
