I never dedicated myself to Jehovah in prayer before my baptism. Mine should be annulled by default.

faders....was it not fun reducing your magazine order over and over?
by oompa inas i went out less and less and less.......i loved the look on the bro at the magazine counter when i said i need three fewer or whatever.....after i did this a few times he said "yeah...several others have had to do the same"......and then i noticed that not only did i bring a huge stack of "back issues" into the hall and place them on the counter when nobody was looking......but there was already a pile there......then i just started trashing them........ahhh.......those were they days...............

I simply stopped collecting my "quota". Most publishers did the same ... hence the backlog of magazines at the literature counter. The elders never had the time to single anyone out since it was a rampant problem.

Yeah, they're pretty bad.
That's why they're called "Kingdumb Maladies" around here.

I'm celebrating The Memorial, parakeet-style
by parakeet inthis year marks an important anniversary for me -- the 30th year i've not attended the big shindig.. i believe i'll throw a virtual party for myself -- wine i can actually drink, leavened bread (so much tastier than unleavened), maybe crab dip.
balloons that read "in memory of the memorial.".
everyone's invited, provided they bring something that adds to the anti-memorial theme.. .

Yeah ... when is the Memorial anyway? Haven't attended one in 7 years.

Are you left handed?
by JimmyPage init looks like my child is going to be.
what kind of challenges did you experience?
how do i teach guitar to my young disciple?.

Seems like I'm mixed handed.
As a small child I used to write with my left hand, but switched to my right hand after being constantly harrassed about writing backwards. It looked fine to me at the time ... but in reality, I actually was writing backwards. Now, writing is one of the few things I do with my right hand. For most others, I feel more comfortable using my left hand.

Do you sometimes think "Did I used to be that way?"
by donny ini have been out of the "org" for over 16 years now and i have pretty much left the jw menatality behind.
i have a jw who works for me and he rarely talks about his faith, but last thrusday was an exception.
he was all happy in telling me how the organization was growing and how the "faithful slave" was revealing new light for the brothers and how he feels that something big is on the horizon.

I work with a JW who doesn't know I'm faded. Many times I marvel at her brainwashed thinking and wonder if I truly seemed the same to others when I was in.
Just recently she went on a rant about the movie "The pursuit of Happyness". Her claim is that the movie's name should really be "The Pursuit of Money" Her reasoning was is that there were soooo many other jobs Will Smith could've taken up instead of fighting so hard to become a stockbroker. She argued that he put his son at risk just because of a stupid job. Rather than be inspired by his persistence, drive and willingness to work hard ... she thought he should've cleaned toilets for a living.
All of this dribble came from a woman who left her previous job to take up one that pays more money .... darn hypocrite!

Unfortunately it's not likely that my SS recipient will receive their gift before Christmas.
I tried to go with the idea they posted on this thread. When it does get there, I really hope they like it.
