  Laptop Advice

  i was hoping to get some feedback from those of you that have laptops.

  i know what i need primarily in terms of system specs so i am more interested in feedback regarding brands.

  if you have a laptop i would be interested to know the brand, whether you bought it new or used, how long the warranty was, if you had any issues with it during or after the warranty (and whether these resulted in you having to take it in or send it away for repairs), if you would buy it again, if you recommend the brand on the whole.. i am currently leaning towards toshiba having met a few people that had bad experiences with dell.

  Looking for a laptop huh? Well, my suggestion is to do some research at http://www.newegg.com. They have some great deals. You are able to view a lot of different models side by side to make sure you're getting a great deal. I recently bought an Acer from there and I love it. I had a Dell before that and while I did get a good year and a half out of it, I had a lot of over heating problems and it wasn't much of a value.

  I paid less than $700 American for this laptop and that was with two gig of RAM and a carrying case. I have very few complaints about my acer and the ones I have are fairly minor. The worst being that the on/off button for wireless is in the front and thus I bump it off from time to time when I have my laptop on my lap.

  I don't have anything pierced and probably won't because I have very sensitive skin, but I find tongue piercings, nipple piercings, and [censored] piercings to be quite erotic.

  MsMcDucket: I sure don't mean any offense to you or your idea, but I do disagree with the idea of shunning. While turn around may be fair play it also validates the negative behavior since both parties are then doing it. Killing with kindness and shoveling hot coals on someone's head by being nice are probably the best. That said, I talk a better game then I play and so I can understand if someone ends up replying in kind.

  "I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals.

  Yep, apparently so. Thirty years and he can't remember hot dogs and beans; eggs and bacon; pot roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions? Besides the idiocy of these asinine feel good stories, the blatant insult to my intelligence makes me want to scream.

  Would you want to know?

  lets say there is chance you have an illness and you can take a few blood tests that will tell you if you do in fact have this illness, would you want to know ?

  keep in mind that there is no treatment and nothing you can do to "make it better", what would you do?

  would you like to know or would you rather not find out ?.

  i was thinking about how i left "the truth" yesterday and got to wondering about the couple of sisters who were directly involved in the beginning of the end for me.

  i know it was because of things they personally did to me that led me to believe witnesses were not "a lovable brotherhood".

  and i know, they know of the things they did as well.. so here's the thing, i bet they don't feel the least bit guilty or even bad about it.

  Are all jw self-righteous? I'm not a huge fan of all-inclusive language, but I will say that when you are part of a group that makes up one tenth of one percent of the population and believe that this group are the only ones doing god's will, self-righteousness is a predictible byproduct.

  on my years as a jw i have always had doubts.

  i have dismissed these as me being overly critical or some such nonsense.

  now i'm on my way out the door, well i"m out the door i'm just working on shutting it right now.

  Yeah, it's kind of funny. Even the wt and asleep magazines suggest that their readers pay attention to their intuition when it comes to their friends, spouse, job, and recreation but NOT in regards their spirituality if they are jw. That should be a huge red flag right there, but for many it isn't. My opinion is that the whole thing comes down to fear. They are too afraid to question because of what they believe happens to those who question. If they knew what really happens to us, they would join us, but they still see god and jesus as blood-thirsty murderers who would forget about a life-time of service in a second if someone were to examine their doubts. Quite effective brainwashing.
