it's too boring to type all the stupidity written, but here's a brief synopsis of where they come up with the brainiac idea that the first resurrection occurred in 1918 onwards:.
Why do they have to put a date on everything? Do they like looking like clueless morons or are they oblivious to this consistent side-effect?
Seasons, dates, hours, days, blah blah blah, are only known by the father. Admittedly, I don't have a lot of faith in the bible anymore, but since they claim to, why don't they just take that at face value and go about their lives?
as most of you know, i've been in bed with flu for a few days, and though i'm a bit better today, i'm still feeling very weak, but i'm just about up to an hours' posting.
i've missed you all so much, and want to thank you for all the good wishes you sent me for a speedy recovery.
i honestly think i've been shown more love from people on this board who i've never met than many jws that i knew for over 20 years.

i'll try to make this long story short.. in october ... about 3 days before i left for a trip my mother decided to have my cell phone cut off.
i've had my bill in my mom's name since i was 16 and have always paid it since i was old enough to work.
but .. out of pure spite, she cut off my phone.

I'm so sorry for you. I used to work with Alzheimer's patients and while it was a very rewarding job, it could be extremely frustrating at times too. When one of the residents would say something mean or do something weird, I just had to remind myself that it was the Alzheimer's doing it and not these lovely people I'd come to love. So, you do the same. When your parents pull this crap, remind yourself that they wouldn't do it if they weren't brainwashed by that horrid organization. Remind yourself that deep down, your parents love you and would show that love if it weren't for the indoctrination.
a jw and his wife have been coming by every week.
i started out from the get-go saying that i would listen because i had an interest in all religions and would like to learn the jw beliefs just to know that they believe.
this is a very good learning experience because it makes me evaluate what i believe and why i believe it.
I didn't like trying to explain things about being no part of the world. It seemed so arbitray on what we did and didn't do and where the dividing line was. Plus, what good did being no part of the world do? Who ever benefited from it? Did god look down from heaven and smile because I was being an arrogant putz to another one of his creatures?
just head that my grandson has a bad kind of cancer.
it's hard to accept stuff like this.
i just hope they can do something to help him survive.. ken p..

i'm forty, no kids, low-paying job, live in a trailer court, etc (and trust me there's more to the etc, then i've already mentioned), but today i had a hard time.. one of my best friends from high school was a big dope head (no offense to the dope heads out there).
he showed up nearly every day to our first period art class smelling of weed and was generally so whacked out of his mind that he got horrible grades.. he finally graduated - barely - and made it to college.
Thanks looking_glass, I appreciate your take on things. I'm better now. There's this lady that comes into the bakery nearly every day. Well, one Saturday, I was working the cash register and she comes in wearing a "World's Best Grandma" sweatshirt. I'm a bit of an extrovert at times and so I gave her a serious look and asked whether what her sweatshirt said was the truth or not. She looked around nervously for a second and then saw the facetious expression on my face. I call her grandma everytime I see her now and she beams from ear to ear. Yeah, I guess I'm doing OK.
i'm doing my third uni unit in a 24-unit bachelors degree (economics).
the exam is tonight, and i'm confident i'm going to fail.
this isn't nerves or false modesty, i just know i haven't covered the material, and haven't consolidated those parts i did cover.

Thegoodgirl, you're right, I don't know what's going on with him. We talkded about the old days and a car he had when we were hanging out. It was a yellow TR7. Gorgeous car. He took me out for a ride one day south of town. We were going along a two-lane country road about sixty miles per hour when all of a sudden he yanks the parking break and turns the car around 180 degrees. I would have crapped my pants but it was over too fast. Anyway, he made a point to tell me that he still had the car and I think he just wanted some connection to an old friendship. Yeah, that introspection stuff can be powerful.
Well all, thanks for the wonderful comments and amazing support. I don't know what happens next, but I really feel like I'm in the game instead of watching and waiting for the half-time, armageddon show.
