Blood fractions insert covered in tonight's service meeting
by becca1 infor those still "in", how did this part go over in your congregation?
we actually had a brother raise his hand and comment that he could not explain to a doctor why we allow fractions and obey the command of levitucus to pour blood out on the ground.
i wonder how many others felt the same but did not have the never to comment openly?

The good thing in all this is that these idiotic decisions and rulings are allowing more and more to wake up from their wt-induced stupor.

Yeah, I can understand your feelings. Think about the fear for a moment. Think about if from different perspectives.
If there were a god who wanted you to serve him, would fear be an effective tool of motivation? Well, have you ever been in a relationship with someone who used guilt trips? Were you impressed with this person? Were you drawn to them? Would you do anythign for them? I can't speak for anyone else, but I would answer "no" to all three of these questions. I'm disgusted by those who resort to intimidation, not impressed by them. In my opinion, if there is a god who cares about us, he isn't looking to control us. He could do that just by virtue of being more powerful than us. It simply doesn't seem logical that an all-powerful god would need to resort to intimidation and thus any fear would be unecessary.
Now, think about yourself. Do you have kids? Do you have nieces and nephews? What would you do if they liked things that you didn't like? Would you make it your life's work to make them feel miserable until they change? Would you want them to feel worthless until they changed? Now if we wouldn't do this, then why would an all-powerful god do it? It doesn't make sense.
If there is a god. If there is a distinct personality behind flowers, honey, sunsets, mountain vistas, and other wonderful aspects of nature, it just doesn't make sense that he's an emotionally unbalanced hard-ass, hell-bent on making all who don't follow a narrow-minded view of life feel worthless. And if that is the case, then nobody has any need of feeling guilty or hating themselves.

If we were in Bible times, I would be stoned...(by my family)
by megsmomma ini was just researching some things and saw an article scan from 4-15-88 watchtower.
it talks of an unrepentant "wrongdoes", like a son who was a drunkard and glutton, and if he was unrepentant when brought before the judges, his parents would have a part in executing him.
my mom had said to me last time she was here..."it's a good thing we are not in bible times, you would be stoned!

Even with the hypocrisy and false prophecy. Even with the constantly mutating doctrines. Even with the depression, backbiting, backstabbing, and other childish behaviors, the one thing that really drives home to me that this group has no more of god's backing then a group of back alley thugs, is the shunning. It's nothing more than intimidation. I don't deal well with intimidation. I'm not saying I'm vengeful, it's just that intimidation is completely ineffectual with me. If somebody needs to intimidate me to do something then they either it's not worth doing or they don't have the right to ask me to do it.
I feel for what you have to go through and I hope one day that they come to their senses and see the light, but either way, I'm glad that you are free from that horrific religion.

The Revelation Grand Climax Book
by UnDisfellowshipped ini just thought i would post this because i know that the jw's are going to start studying the "revelation -- its grand climax at hand!
" book once again in the near future, and i wanted to let everyone know, who doesn't already know, some of the interesting and upbuilding "spiritual truths" found in this wonderful "food at the proper time":.
1:) chapter 15 says that jehovah's witnesses should sing songs of praise to jesus christ.. 2:) page 319 says that jesus was speaking in revelation 22:12 (and thus verse 13 also, which means jesus is the alpha and the omega, the almighty).. 3:) page 319 says that jehovah's witnesses should pray "amen.

Well, I especially enjoyed the chapter on the wild beast and how important it is to stay away from it. I also like the chapter that talks about the hypocritical harlot that rides the wild beast. I just wish they wouldn't have cut the chapter where they identify themselves as the hypcritcal harlot that rides the wild beast. Oh well, maybe next printing....
