"They party every night! I knew we should have listened to those Apostates, but noooooooooooooo you had to be Mr. Know-it-all, Mr. 1914, Mr.New Light, Mr. Boring."
This is hilarious.

15and he says to me: "the waters that you saw, where the harlot is sitting, mean peoples and crowds and nations and tongues.
16 and the ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire.
17 for god put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought, even to carry out [their] one thought by giving their kingdom to the wild beast, until the words of god will have been accomplished.
What is the color of water? Is it murky, brown, or green?
If it is Crystal Clear it is from God. It appears light blue with a shallow depth, but darker blue with a deeper depth. I answered my own question in explanation. Words have no meaning if they provide no answer to a question.
Ah, the old crystal clear water scripture. I remember that one. Where is that again? Is that right next to the one on arrogantly blowing somebody off because they don't accept your explanation of something? I get all these things confused, but I'm sure you have it all straight, what with your ability to see through water and all.

If a person on ludes can tell the future under divine inspiration then so be it. If you have nothing to offer in explanation why answer?
Ah, so you are the one who determines whose replies qualifiy as being legitimate or not. Gotcha, I'll run em by you in the future.
i was reading the article in the nov awake about musterbation (not a typo, i just hate that word & have to rephrase it)!!.
it took me back to the days as a young man who had normal feelings of a sexual nature.
new in the truth and fighting, with every fibre of my being, (at least in the beginning) against the idea of having a ham shank.
Which of these is the most disturbing: a person stimulating their genitalia until they climax or a middle-aged, religious leader who is interested in whether I do it or not?
well, this is weird.. i got an email today from a dub.
there was no message.
it was 53 seconds of music.
and I told him my name, too.
Well no wonder you're no longer in "the truth," you apparently have testacles.

What is your take on accounts in the bible that relate how God destroyed thousands of people?
If the accounts are accurate, why would God change his MO?
bczar
I don't think it's from God. I think that if God had some message he wanted us all to have, we'd all have it, equally and without confusion as to what it was. I just don't think now is the time for us to have a message from him. The people who seem to have benefited the most from the bible and other "holy" books are those who have a need to control other people.
I think people like crutches. People like affirmation that what they're doing is right or making a difference. The bible, written in its adaptable, maleable fashion has been a HUGE TOOL for those who see the benefit in giving people what they want while attracting the followers and adoration they crave. So, do I think the bible is from God? I don't.

candidlynuts, You need a (((hug))) and a cruize. I hope you've found time for the latter.
in their black and white world, the jw's think that everything that isn't jw is evil.. every day, i visit my dad at a nursing home, a place where dying people go, and i see so many good people, many volunteers, helping out the sick and dying.
witnesses may preach and know their bible better than the average person.
but i prefer people who don't know their bible as well, but have a heart and donate to the poor or help the sick and have compassion.. maybe one day when the average age of witnesses will be higher, maybe they will start to understand that there is more than preaching.
Just to add to what you said......I think JW's live their life in black and white, while the world around them lives in color.....bright, beautiful, vivid, color.
Beautifully stated.

Questions to Consider
How did you deal with the pressures of Witness life?
How did we keep up this pace for years on end?
#1) I dealt with the pressure by keeing everything inside, hating myself, and praying to God that he didn't destroy such a despicable and pitable worm of a man such as myself. Oh, and football.
#2) I kept up the pace because even thought the jw don't have anything that even resembles truth, humans are highly adaptable and can endure amazing amounts of dysfunction.
anyone that can help me understand this scenerio please explain.
i am relatively new in "the truth".
i am struggling with some logical things here.
tarhillsblue, stick around here and read the posts. Think about what's said and do your own research. Before long you'll understand why anyone with the kind of moxie and initiative that you're looking for won't be found at the kingdom hall.
