  i think the saddest aspect of being a jehovah's witness in 2006 concerns the increasingly distant relationship that the watchtower.

  hierarchy have developed - and how witnesses react to it.. have you ever known a parent who had little or no love for their children?

  and how the children sometimes seem all the more drawn to.

  Good point. The wt encourages dysfunctional relationships on every level. They teach you to have one with god, your spouse, your children, your friends, and even with themselves. What a hypocritical mess.

  Getting away from the source of the brainwashing is definitely important but more is needed to truly break free. I'm no expert but I can talk about my personal experience. I slipped away from the hypocrites four or five years ago but it was only a location thing. I still had the garbage running through my mind and affecting my decisions. I didn't start healing until I started questioning each of the many beliefs I've held onto over the years and jettisioning the ones that are pure crap.

  i think it will be around for years to come.

  i do think that we can put the word out about this cult and help people get out or not join them in the first place.

  but we'll never obliterate them, in my opinion.

  Does Anyone Really Believe They Can Knock Out The Watchtower???

  You know, I don't expect to see the end of crab grass in my lifetime either, but I still spray for it. It may be impossible to stop horrible people from pulling the dysfunctional crap that the wt has pulled, but we can at least limit their effects and give people a plethora of sources of research. Seeing as how they ruin the lives of those they convert, at least we can make it damn difficult to convert someone in the first place.

  WT thinks wife a "burden"?

  after the belittling of women in this weeks witchtower babble study, i got to thinking.. i remembered a magazine from the late 50s or early 60s discussing "marry only in the lord".. it said that if a man marries a non-believer, he would have to "bear his onerous burden" until jehovah relieves him of it at armageddy.

  jehovah will bless him by killing his wife.).

  i extrapolate from this that the wtbts views a wife as a burden, either welcome, or onerous, depending on her religious stand.

  Well, from a wt standpoint, I guess a wife would be a burden. It's like slavery in the 1800s. They needed to use shackles, whips, abusive language, and other cruel methods to hold on to their "property." Failure to utilize these burdensome methods meant lower productivity or the loss of their flesh and blood property. It's the same with the wt today. Since they treat women as second class creatures, it's a burden to hold one in submission.

  the oddest one for me is 1935, where do they get this idea that heavens doors were closed ???.

  makes no sense at all.. where did jesus say in the bible that in 1935 heavens doors would be closed.. with the governing body all dying off, soon the whole governing body will be replacements !

  My jw year is my favorite? LOL! That's kind of like asking me which one of the zits I had during high school was my favorite, but I'll try to give this some thought.

  I last attended a meeting in 2001/2002 (don't remember exactly when it was, but I may have went to the memorial in 2002)

  I realized the jw are a cult in 2006

  I realized how creepy it was that a ministerial servant about ten years younger than me was concerned with wether or not my wife and I were engaging in oral sex in 2000

  My indoctrination began in 1988, the same year I sacrificed my first wife on the alter of the watchtower

  Gosh, so many years, which to choose.

  I think I'm going to go with 2007. Hopefully that will be the one they do enough stupid things and make enough stupid predictions that they lose all credibility and those stuck inside her rooms of hypocrisy can escape.

  for the second day in a row, the schools are closed because of the snow.

  very strange for november.. it is collllddddd today and the roads are solid ice after the bit of a thaw yesterday.

  Apology to all

  this is an apology to all for my recent posts, i did'nt mean to upset anyone .

  just coping with leaving the org ,and the past ,and trying to support my wife who, as some know from my prevoius posts has tried to deal with her pedophile elder(past) father for many years now thru the org ,and then being badly treated by them and her large extended family (most are witnesses and are trying to silence her), made me hit rock bottom.

  we are now taking action via the police and court system and she is barely coping ,and me being bi-polar does'nt help matters much and i fell into to an unreal state for a while as we don't have much support of any kind.
