Wow! Excellent response chickpea. So, when someone says that stupid scripture, you could respond: "That helps a dog get vital nutrients he would otherwise lose. Instinct is helping him to protect himself, kind of like what I'm doing here."

Dare a married guy meet up with his teenage infatuation? HELP!
by aylesbury_lad inalmost 25 years ago, at 17, i fell under the spell of this gorgeous, sexy, blond sister from a neighboring cong'.
i carried this crush like a pathetic puppy for almost 2 years, never summoning the nerve to ask her out.
i deservedly lost the girl.

I couldn't believe it when I saw her picture. We've exchanged a few emails and I told her about the ridiculous crush I had on her back in the early 80's. We've both moved on of course and there is no way I'd risk my marriage for some vain, ego trip to the past.
No offense dude, but I don't believe you. You were sending out feelers. I think you're looking for justification for doing what you already want to do, hook up with her.

I don't even know where to begin. I want to do almost everything I haven't already done once and more than half of the stuff I've already tried again. Some of it, I want to perfect, write a book about, and demonstrate on Oprah.

by Alleymom inhi, everyone ---.
claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.
the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.

Yikes, that had to hurt. Well, I've been on both sides of that kind of talk and it's the mind-control. That's really how they see the world. You probably saw it yourself that way.

Are the Halls stepping up the message??
by littleblueuk inrecently my jw mother has been acting strange.
she's saying things like, she feels like she doesn't "know" her children anymore (as if she ever did), and that she knows we all talk about her behind her back and mock her religion.
then she'll say that she has the "friends" and that's all she needs.. is the society turning up the armegeddon's almost here and cut off your non-believing relatives now 'cause they won't make it into the new system thing?

I think they are ALWAYS in stepping up the message mode. One of the main ways they keep their flock from seeing the truth about them is keeping them exhausted. Then they drill into their heads that it's almost over and they just need one more burst of energy to make it.
Welcome to the board.

Wow, I can't believe I'm doing this....
by megawatt inwelp...
it's been a crazy ride for over 25 years, pretty much raised as a witness (ever since i could remember), rebelled against my parents, came back, straighten out for a little while, married within "the truth", but the last 5 to 7 years, i've been seriously questioning the changes and doctrines established by the wts.
never thought i would be looking from this side of the fence.

Welcome megawatt, this is a great place to get some answers and some advice when things get sticky. Just remember, you can ignore the sense of urgency the watchtower encourages. Take things slow and methodical and you guys will be out and enjoying a cult-free life in no time.
