Sorry, I need to vent for a moment...

normally, i don't mind where i'm at in my life.

i'm forty, no kids, low-paying job, live in a trailer court, etc (and trust me there's more to the etc, then i've already mentioned), but today i had a hard time.. one of my best friends from high school was a big dope head (no offense to the dope heads out there).

he showed up nearly every day to our first period art class smelling of weed and was generally so whacked out of his mind that he got horrible grades.. he finally graduated - barely - and made it to college.

there's this girl at work who i've been kidding around with for a couple months.

we laugh and joke and i thought we were pretty good friends.

it's still a little rough, but let me know what you think.

What should I be? - A poem.

i'm good with people - i would make a cool waiter.. i'm quick on my feet - i should become an ice skater.. i left "the truth" - i guess that makes me a traitor.. but even though i left, i don't hate our creator.. i don't like control - i guess i'm not a dictator.

i do like art - i could become a curator.

i know another language - maybe a translator?.

ok, i won't say i'm a huge follower of horoscopes, but i do like the positive, motivational message they usually contain.

I'm coming out on my blog.

no, i'm not talking about being gay, although if i was, i'd come out about that too.

no, i'm talking about coming public about having been a jw and explaining why i feel the jw is a dangerous cult.. now, i don't have a huge readership on my blog, but i've never talked about my jw past to anyone outside of that organization or this board.

i would love to hear any advice from those who have been out and successfully dealing with the mental and emotional abuse that the jw poured out.

One thing that REALLY bothers me

i was just watching the news about an organization called bundles of love that puts together kits for new parents that can't afford to get things for their newborns.

it was a touching piece.

one of the volunteers talked about why she decided to help out and the first thing that came to my mind was how ashamed i am of how as part of jw i would have instinctively found someway to discredit her kindess as just another worldly person walking blindly through satan's world.
