I look forward to reading more posts from you!
hey everyone, i am new to this site.
my great grandmother was a witness and i was in the truth in my young childhood.
my mother is disfellowshipped and i am currently studying with my husband, who knew nothing about the truth but had been very good at studying and has great knowledge about the bible.

i sent this letter to our son the other day.
we pray he wakes up and realizes this org is a lie.
i can't just quietly sit by and watch him be reeled into it.
My heart is breaking with you..... can't begin to imagine how you are feeling right now...don't stop praying for your son and showing him unconditional love! Stay on this forum for help and support.

when i was 17 i got pregnant (omg)!!!
i was in a meeting with 3 elders from my nj cong.
and the questions they asked:.
What I don't understand is where on earth could they find the scriptural justification for this kind of questioning? Did Jesus ever take any sinners aside and ask for specifics about their sexual misconduct? How about the Samaritan woman at the well? She was guilty and yet he treated her with love, kindness and dignity. He pointed out her general sin and then told her to "sin no more".
What about the Bible verse that says it is a shame to talk of the things done in secret?
Would an active JW not see how perverse this really is?

to those of you who followed the last post about the idiot who keeps e-mailing me -- he keeps sending me more letters even though i quit sending him letters.. .
good morning renee: i expect you will be reading this early when you come to work.
these are trumped up charges just like they did to jesus and the apostles by those who hate jehovah and his flock.
GOOD MORNING RENEE
Ummm, it is sad to see that he is the one that needs to wake up, not you Renee.
As far as the weather changing, he needs to look outside my window--winter is here with a vengeance and school continues to be cancelled! I don't see spring under the 6 feet of snow anytime soon!
He is "willingly ignorant" about the WT--that means dumb on purpose. Can you block his emails?

my parents became jw's in the early 60's just before i was born.
i was raised as a jw but hated everything about it from a very early age.
going door to door was the worst growing up.
Only you can say where you are in the process, but I think that by understanding why JWs do what they do (they are blinded, brain-washed, sincerely think they are serving Jehovah) then can you move forward to actually forgiving them for their sincere but misguided actions, and then even to love them? When the JWs come to my door, I try and show them love--which they believe can't be found outside of the org--but they are wrong!
What about channeling your strong feelings into trying to help them see the truth? Or get involved in some activism?
Long term hatred will lead to health results--and you don't want to give the org any more negative impact on your life than they have already had.
Just some suggestions but I might be way off. I do hope you can find some peace

I received some cult exit counseling notes from someone who specializes in helping JWs and exJWs. Here are the 7 steps to recovery that were stated. It is important to move through the steps to full freedom.
1. Anger--at self and others for the deception
2. Pain, Grief and Loss--this is important because it helps to break through any denial and lift the veil that had blinded the eyes before.
3. Understanding--why did you or your parents stay in the cult for so long
4. Repentance--recognize your responsibility in staying in and squelching those doubts that you had
5. Love--acknowledging your limitations, accepting them, and moving forward
6. Forgiveness--forgive self, accept God's forgiveness, forgive others in the cult
7. Final Growth--continues as long as you live, looking at the scars without feeling the pain, growing spiritually outside of the cult.
Where do you think you are? Don't get stuck! Many people do and then the cult experience continues to ruin their life even years later. Find someone to help you through it.
I think that understanding (Step 3) might be a critical step for you right now, what do you think?
If I can be of any help, let me know.
is there any evidence that blood transfusion was attempted in ancient history--ie ancient egypt, greece, rome?
could it be that the bible does refer to these practices in the "abstain from blood" passages?.
arming myself for my hlc meeting, any help or suggestions are appreciated.. ts.
Sorry to ask you on this thread, but are you on an HLC? Just curious... Thanks
No AllTime Jeff, but I expect to be meeting with the local HLC elder so he can explain the blood policy to me since I am so "confused" about it. I was led to believe that some old WT material had indicated that the ancients had tried out some crude form of transfusion. Does anyone know of any documentation? It sounds preposterous to me, but you know the WT will grasp at anything...

i thought this article was worth sharing:.
"when i remember how many of us are affected (by loved ones still in cults), i realize that my hope has many objects.
i hope that my granddaughter will one day leave.

what one thing would i see that would tell me the most about you?.
the center of my home is my computer and my books.
standing at the door that is the first thing you will see.
You would see
BOOKS!
Antiques
Mother and child art collection
Original oil paintings of farmsteads
Homeschool projects and papers
Bibles, concordances, Bible dictionaries
STACKS OF APOSTATE LITERATURE!!!!! (If you are an active JW, I would hide that before you came in)
Did I mention, BOOKS, BOOKS, and more BOOKS?
You would get a hug arriving and leaving, be well fed with home baking, and feel that you had been part of a big noisy family...Depending upon the time of day, you might find me in my pjs, curled up beside the woodstove ...if it got late, you'd be invited to stay overnight and have a pj party
When are you coming for a visit?
