I've had the problem for about 10 years now. Exactly the time when I started feeling like I can't talk, walk, or do anything without feeling watched, or without having to respond to someone about my decisions and feelings. I get nervous, it hits me like a freight train. Now that I am inactive, I have felt better, still have the problem but less severe. Years ago I went to the doctor, and found nothing wrong with me. I've been depressed and all that is related. My depression is better too, by the way. This is a very common problem that a lot of people don't like to talk about, especially men. But it happens more than we know.

i have a jw aunt who has suffered horribly from this miserable condition for years.

by integ inwhile the wtbs is no doubt scrambling about at bethel; frantically searching the scriptures in an effort to attach some prophetic meaning to this latest hurricane in the caribbean, and how it somhow relates to the importance of stepping it up in the ministry, how much time do you think they will spend on plans to help their fellowman?.
i am sure we will all hear b.s such as " this just shows how we are in the last of the last of the last days".. but oh by the way, make plans for our international convention in 2009..

Need photocopy of 1967 WT, p. 262 on 1975
by cabasilas ini was listening to the lecture posted here by alphaomega and sinutko quotes the 1967 wt, p. 262 with a very strong quote about 75. i went to the wt's cd-rom and looked up the reference and it reads entirely differently.
but, sinutko says he is quoting, not paraphrasing.. the transcript of the lecture has sinutko saying this:.
"well, we dont have to guess what the year 1975 means if we read the watchtower.

I have the Spanish version of the most recent CD ROM and does not go any further back to 1970. I found an article entitled "THE 1,000 YEAR PEACE IS AT HAND OR IS APPROACHING" something like that, (REMEMBER I AM TRANSLATING), and gives a similar information. Back then the spanish speaking will receive the information like 4 - 6 months later than the english speaking so the date might not be the same. In spanish, the article came out in the April 1, 1970 Watchtower, maybe is the same, but look back 4-6 months and try to search for that article.
I will try to translate to the best of my ability one paragrapah where it is suggested, almost openly said that the mid 1970's will be the time of the end.

I will continue to post on this topic because I believe in its efficacy.I am sorry, I don't mean to offend or critizice your post, but, what is your purpose in wanting to call Bethel and protest. Protest what? and, by protesting do you think they are going to change years of teachings and beliefs that they wouldn't even admit teaching. I had reservations about the accuracy of some ex members regarding the 1975 issue. I thought that they were interpreting the Society's words about implying that that was a marked year. I did some research myself on the CD Rom and found an article where it is implied that 1975 could be the year. I did it myself and was convinced. However the Society has written articles on how some members were so desperate to see the end of this system that assumed that was the year to expect it. They didn't assume the responsibility that their publications led the crowd to believe it. So what is the point in protesting? And again, protesting to what, if you can give me more details?

I read "A Brief History of Time" a long time ago. Good book, wouldn't mind rereading it actually.

Everything going very well. How are you? Interesting subject this one isn't it? Love to talk about these things. I do believe that there is a God. It's just that to me he is still very far away, and I wonder what really is going through his mind about us humans. The Society makes him very loving and very demanding at the same time. When analizing all these, I think that there is a lot us humans do not understand about God, and therefore anything we think he is, he might not be. All these pagan religions, with all their gods, some of them very loving and some of them very violent and demanding are just a reflect of what religions have portrait God to be, and I think JW's are a little bit influenced by this beliefs as well, they just would not admit it. The Bible does give two faces of God. Why do we feel that the pagan religions have it all wrong about God, when even the Bible gives some disturbing accounts of God's rage from time to time? They might have gone too far, but their beliefs are based on tradition and word of mouth. They just over extended their imagination and split God into many gods, each one based on his personality and traits. I do not go as far as to believing he does not exist, but I do question they way we have been taught he is.

I agree with what another friend said here. Before starting to create there was no time. Time is the measure we use to explain our existence, but just like the Bible says, for God one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day, I understand then that, where he lives there is no time, he gave that analogy for us to understand his eternity.
The famous physic Stephen Hawkins says that if a human could survive going through a Black Hole, he would be able to see time flying in front of his eyes, what would be one second for him would be thousands of years on earth, he would be able to see everything happening on earth like fast-forwarding a movie. Sounds creepy, doesn't it? He says there is not time inside a black hole. Too much information to grasp for us humans, and for us that are not geniuses, like me. My head starts to hurt if I put too much thought into these things.
