They would have had a gay old time!
WIIIILMAAAA!!!!
as i understand it, being gay is not a sin in the organization, only homosexual acts are sins.
i've never read anywhere that gay jw people are encouraged to "fix" their gayness and marry.. i've certainly known a fair number of confirmed bachelor types who live exemplary lives in the witness sense - one life-long bethelite i knew springs to mind - but are clearly (to me anyway) gay.
they've all been in the closet though.. i wonder if any jw has ever been out of the closet, but not disfellowshipped since they don't have sex?

Also, I am a Socialist Marxist Fascist. Should be a match made in heaven.
Hey Canadians, how hard would it be for me to immigrate to Canada? I need health insurance.
JW's are taught to think in circles. They have to be big enough to be noticed, but small enough to be persecuted.
Your mom has a low logic threshold.
Profound.

If a baptized JW who is known to have been struggling with homosexual feelings spends the night with another known homosexual, it could be considered for judicial committee.
I know that there are many non practicing homosexuals as JW's. If you want to be an elder, you keep it to yourself. Otherwise, you can talk about it with the elders and you won't be censured, although if you admit your struggling you won't be considered for those wonderful "privileges of service".
Gregor, c'mon, you are a handful.
*sigh* Ok, wanna shoot some hoops and talk about needing to go to college, not dropping out of high school?
ATJeff, of the Big Brother Class

The banks themselves who made the loans didn't know what they were doing which is why they started collapsing.
I don't know if I agree with this. The banks are businesses, loans are products, and they sold as many as they could to make their numbers. It's all about the business.
However, common sense flew out the window. I recall one couple who bought a house in 2003 or so. They couldn't afford it, had no money for a down payment, and we all asked them how they did it. They said it was easy. I agree, they were preyed upon, but they had a lot of people tell them that it sounded like a suspicious loan if they could get one. They took offense to this.
They filed for bankruptcy a year later.

Nice prose Billy.
I get what he was trying to do. To bad its illegal. In jail, he will get to know a new kind of bulldozer, and thats all I am sayin.
the elders stopped by today.
they spoke of a new arrangement where the org is asking everyone to come back regardless of their sins.
they just want them to come back with impunity.
eby, thanks for that link. I remember reading that. Here is the pertinent part from it...
The November 15, 2008, Watchtower, pages 14 and 15, paragraphs 12 and 13, states:
“Some individuals stop preaching and attending meetings because they have committed a serious
sin. They may feel that if they confess their wrongdoing to the elders, they will be disfellow-
shipped. But they will not be expelled from the congregation if they have discontinued the un-
scriptural practice and are genuinely repentant. (2 Cor. 7:10, 11) Instead, they will be welcomed
back, and the elders will give them the spiritual help they need. . . . The elders will know how to
assist anyone desiring to return and live in accord with God’s will. Loving discipline may be re-
quired. (Heb. 12:7-11) If the person acknowledges that he has sinned against God, has ceased to
engage in wrongdoing, and is truly repentant, the elders will help him, and he can receive Jeho-
vah’s forgiveness.—Isa. 1:18; 55:7; Jas. 5:13-16.”
As you can appreciate, good judgment is needed when handling these matters. If ques-
tions arise relative to a specific situation, please feel free to write the branch office and we will
provide assistance.
There is nothing here to indicate that a sin committed while away and inactive will be treated with impunity. If anything, what I read here is this message to elders, 'Ok elders. If someone comes in and committed fornication 10 years ago but wants to come back, hold a JC as normal, just don't disfellowship them.'
Thats what I get out of it.
