Hey all. I enjoyed my sabatical from our crazy little 5 feet of the cyber world.
I remember coming on here, leaving JW's and having so much to say, so much to expose. Not that I was in any way the first. I felt a slight bit unique only because it was at Gilead that I had my anti-epiphany. Are you kidding? I was an elder, got to be a pioneer hot shot, just like I always (thought) I wanted. All the while, deep deep down, wondering what the hell I was doing? Something wasn't right. Had to shun my gay brother pursuing spiritual bullshit goals. But I was "good" at being a JW. It took me some growing up to figure it all out. And I did, eventually.
Anyway, I wrote a lot, with a lot of passion, angst, regret, and gratitude.
Over the last couple of years, I haven't felt like writing much, because I feel I am rehashing all that I wrote about. I don't write for my mind, I write for my heart. I think I have said and exposed all I can.
Not that I don't remember the idiodicy of being an elder, the final attempt at brainwashing that is Gilead, how W E I R D Bethel is.
But since I have been out for 5 years, I ain't in da loop no more. (can't say that fact makes me sad)
I appreciate all the new ones who come on here, starting that necessary journey for themselves. I will lend my voice when the spirit moves me.
I hope you don't mind the new, improved, old man AllTimeJeff. (ok, that's bullshit hubris, I'm 36) I am here for me, because y'all are cool. I will do what I can to be supportive of you.
I still remember how much it sucks to leave and lose your way and try to find it again. Remember, be tough, even if you have to lead with your chin. Love you all. You all are my kin.

My interest in posting here has deadened lately. This will likely be my last thread. Initially I participated here because I was interested in sharpening my perception against opposing points of view. Jehovah really doesn't recommend the use of channels such as this for such purposes.
I appreciate your honesty here. You are correct, JW's are discouraged from visiting sites where former JW's can share their experiences and what they have learned.
The reason the faithful and discreet slave made these statements is because apostates have constituted themselves as God's enemies with blood on their hands and false concepts ingrained in their hearts and thinking.
Like I mentioned to you on another thread, we already know that this is what JW's are taught to think. However, I think to simply say that you are wrong for believing this, even as the GB is wrong to teach it (and hide the lies, failed prophecies, and systematic mistreatment of their flock) would suffice.
I once again use this opportunity to remind all (former JW's, JW's, lurkers, etc) of a very simple and powerful point: Jehovah's Witnesses as a religious entity are a very marginalized fringe group. Yet, as the Doomsday cult that tried to predict the end of the world recently shows, JW's are hardly alone in thinking they are the only group who will survive a worldwide destruction at the hands of god. My life is so worthless to so many religions around the world that I am condemned to death in a majority of them. So really, JW's threat of death doesn't scare me at all.
This is why virtually no Jehovah's Witnesses participate on the largest network advertised as a discussion forum for Jehovah's Witnesses.
Very true. At the same time, you can't baptize between 2-300,000 a year, and only grow by 50,000 a year. The math doesn't add up. Most of us who participate on this forum realize that the majority who leave don't go on the internet, they just move on, as they should. The "world" as you call them, ("real/typical people" as I call them) doesn't pay attention to JW's because JW's are correctly viewed as an odd group at best, and at times a dangerous cult with the systematic protection of pedophiles and the incomprehensible stand on blood derived medicine as evidence.
As with other Christians, Jehovah's holy spirit gradually helped me to recover from some problems on the personal side.
I will take your word for it if you will take my word for it that leaving JW's helped me recover from most of my personal problems.
That's why I've never been swayed by any ideas from opposers. Jehovah will display compelling evidence for his existence to those that give him the opportunity. It seems my loyalty should be to God without the added complications of bad association.
Again, I disagree. Let's just review the very odd dichotemy that exists in the day of the life of a JW. JW's for over 100 years have produced literature that "exposes false religion." They go to the doors of people all over the world to help save them, because Jehovah is going to destroy false religion. (which is defined as all religions that aren't Jehovah's Witnesses) Yet, JW's aren't allowed to look at printed evidence that shows the very sordid history of Jehovah's Witnesses, from the crazy early prophecies and beliefs, the flip flopping of doctrinal tenants, and all they got wrong, to the sins of the leadership, esp Russell, Rutherford, and 2 GB members (Greenlees and Chitty) who were known pedophiles and homosexuals.
In short it is absolutely hypocritical to hide your own dirty laundry and forbid your flock from considering it while at the same time making it the backbone activity of your religion to air everyone else's dirty laundry in an effort to destroy a person's faith and try to get them to join JW's.
So for the few people who made it all the way through this, and for lurkers who are scared, don't be. Don't be mad. Don't be continually baited by JW's for the rest of your life. Heal and move on. We all know that Maze does represent how JW's think. Don't sweat it. They are wrong. It's just that simple.
Good bye Maze. Like the group you want to belong to, I won't miss you.

Hidden program in the new WT CD alerts Bethel who has visited apostate websites!!
by moshe injust imagine, if that was a true statement- or maybe it is already in the works?
do you think it is possible?.

Good point Mr Mustard. Part of the talent is the leadership needed to pull that off. I don't think the GB has the inclination to do it or the trust in those who would have to do it.
The GB knows it would get out, and I definitely bow to that point. But tracking down IP addresses and linking them to people is one of those "more trouble then what it's worth" scenarios. I don't think it is as simple as it sounds either. If anything
Theoretically, yes, they can do it. But they aren't set up for it, don't trust those who would do it, and would much rather DF you then track you down.

This post directed at Moshe or anyone in particular. As a general statement, I always wish to keep in front of everybody just how amateurish Bethelites are.
The idea that the GB or upper crust Bethel elders follows apostate websites as it relates to a campaign to monitor websites and keep track of moles is absurd.
(I do allow that higer ups DO visit, but for their own purposes and curiosity. As a policy, they don't really care what apostates say, just as long as their flock doesn't listen or believe them.)
Simply put folks, they can't because they aren't that talented! They can't follow moles on the internet, and they can't embed images in pictures designed to get you to become and/or stay a JW.
For one thing, they are cheap. They also aren't THAT paranoid. It has always been my strong belief that the GB believes, esp at this late date, that apostates will always pop up, they are collateral damage to be expected and best handled by disfellowshipping and shunning.
Disfellowshipping is the weapon of choice against apostates, not monitoring websites. Love bombing and lies are the key to recruiting new followers, not embedded spiral images stuck in pictures of paradise.

Is there a correlation between personality type and leaving the WT?...
by Tuesday inon facebook tonight there was a post asking to take a personality test, in posting the personality tests a trend started emerging that certain personality types seem to leave around the same time.. i came out as an intj which is introverted intuitive thinking judging.
which a good paragraph describing it was:.
intjs apply (often ruthlessly) the criterion "does it work?

I don't think there is a correlation in personality type. I think there is a correlation between types of personalities who find themselves on the fringe of society to one degree or another. I think social location matters more then personality type, and social mobility is more of a key to making a decision to leave then personality.
After all, a stubborn person who becomes a stubborn JW make great JW elders. They are aka as 'extroverted @$$holes'. JW's take all types, all types can stay, and all types have left.

No Maze, it doesn't. You don't know anyone here any better then we know your friends. So lighten up, ok?
Or were you just admitting that it is personal between you and the apostates you know darn well you should stay away from?
Here is a great way as a practicing JW to avoid having former JW's not make comments about your supposed friends that we don't know anything about. Stop talking and stop stirring up shit.
Why do you care what we think anyway? You know "We're JUST apostates".
And you? "You're JUST a JW."
Get it?

I remember an illustration "something" like this in a talk one time LOL
by therevealer inmy wife stood before me with some items in front of her.
without a word, she emptied a large jar of mayonnaise and proceeded to fill the empty jar with rocks right to the top, rocks about 2" diameter, then asked me if the jar was full.
i agreed that it was.. she then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them in to the jar.

That is as old as the hills. For what its worth, my favorite version of this is in the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".
