It's too late for JW's. Were they ever to disavow the blood doctrine, they would open themselves up to lawsuits galore. They would shut down.
LD, I think you are right, but its going to take a gradual doctrine shift that will take decades.
the seven laws of noah are: .
1. belief in a supreme being and the prohibition ofworshipping any other beings.. .
2. respect g-d and do not blaspheme his name.. .

we do well to bear in mind that among the drugs, serums, vaccines, surgical operations, etc., of the medical profession, there is nothing of value save an occasional surgical proceedure.
their so-called "science" grew out of egyptian black magic and has not lost its demonological character.... we shall be in a sad plight when we place the welfare of the race in their hands.
[1] 1. the golden age, aug. 5, 1931, p. 727.. the journal of the a. m. a. is the vilest sheet that passes the united states mail.... nothing new and useful in theraputics escapes its unqualified condemnation.
Cult!
Sorry, I wish I could be more profound, but that quotable bullshit speaks for itself. Accountability demands that we hold the GB responsible for not even apologizing for printing it, even when they insist that since 1919, Jesus chose them.
But, you can't make people who are indoctrinated understand. Hopefully some lurkers will read this and slowly understand that they have supported a man made cult, as hard as that is to accept, and the proof is the very words that JW's use to print, and every stinking prophecy that they have had to change, and still change, waiting for one to come true.
Cult.
i just had a go through on jwmatch.. has anyone used that site before?

Exercise caution.
the jehovah's witness are notorious for ranting about their favourite religion to pick on and that is the catholic church.
my question is, if they are false.
prophets, etc... then what they said about the catholic church should be suspect also.
Ok, I think we can rule out the "if" part.
JW's like to pick on the Catholic Church in the same way Ahmadinejad picks on the United States. It's just a big visible target known by all that allows him to spew his ignorance.
Since Rutherford, JW's have been a marketing religion, designed to define themselves against the religions they are competing against for members by using a formula that reinforces what they aren't. Comparing themselves to other religions is the only way they ever get members.
Their whole rallying cry is "WE ARE DIFFERENT!"
Let me put it this way, if the Catholic Church were a monotheistic religion that worshiped Jehovah, then Jehovah's Witnesses would be a Trinitarian religion that worshiped Jesus. Just as long as they are different, thats all they care about.
I could make a Canadian health care joke, but that would make me only a big brother type, and you don't need a smart @$$ to help you out. Besides, I am trying to get Canadian health care....
Sorry your thumb got hurt. That would stink!
Someone help Lee out please.

I grew up in Florida, and I know I am not a sunny Florida guy. On the other hand, after this winter, I am thinking that, if I strike oil, I can probably invest in a time share for winter. Then I can wear my Speedo's down Hollywood beach! lol
Howz the cable TV in Canada? And how much would I really have to put up with Don Cherry?
a few weeks back, in the midst of the haiti tragedy, much discussion took place in cyberland about the tolerance [or indeed the insistence on] suffering by a loving god.
the furor over haiti has settled a bit [as unfortunately most tragedy is wont to do far too quickly in the human mind], but this persistent matter continues to chew at my subconscience.
today i came across this:.

Did you see Brittney Spears with the snake at the MTV awards a few years ago? It was like that, with a voiceover. ;)

Perry, I am going to restate my answers to your questions. I first answered them by saying, then demonstrating that there was nothing logical with the premise to begin with. You then say that your question wasn't answered. I answered it. You just don't like the answer.
Perry, here are your two questions:
1. What is intrinsically illogical about the biblical explanation about God and Suffering co-existing?
My answer to this are repasted below, just in case you ignored it the first time.
2. Please explain by what possible measure of logic you can employ to prop up your illusion that a JUST GOD will not Judge? For if God refuses to judge people, then this must mean that God is evil....having to ability to judge and refusing to do so.
You are assuming too much here. You are judging it illogical that if god refuses to judge people, that he is evil. Other then the bible, what are you relying on to make this assumption, another personal conversation you had with Jesus?
Enjoy my repeating the answers to question 1 below. If asked, I will repaste it again until you get through in your head that your premise is illogical, thus, any attempts at logically answering your question is wrong. It's like finding the logic in Lord of the Rings. It's still fiction.
Bon apetite.
Oh, the illogic of the Bible, with Seas parting, Floods happening, families through incest (Lot and his merry daughters) and the "investigation" of Sodom and Gomorrah before they were "salted" away.
And that's just Genesis and Exodus.
Yup, lots of logic.....
AND
Until someone can logically explain why God "allows" suffering and doesn't step in, I could give a rats behind about the reconciliation. But here is one thing you have stated over and over.
We are born sinful.
Thats right, that little baby is doomed unless he accepts what, in your mind Perry, is the only way to reconciliation with god. Jesus.
That baby will grow, develop all kinds of personality traits, might even be born in China, or a Muslim country, where logically, they are doomed because they won't accept Jesus.
Doomed. Baby. Born dead unless he accepts Christ. Doomed because our original parents ate a piece of fruit after a discussion of good vs evil with a snake.
Logic?
Your premise is wrong. Always has been. You fight this point because without it, you would have to back off a lot of your statements, but you can't prove logically why we are alienated from god without the illogical Genesis account. Genesis is an allegory at best. Without accepting that I am in need of reconciliation based on the 2 naked people and snake story, I have no need for your snake oil.
You refuse to see that sin is a control mechanism of religion, of which, you personally have bought. Again and again, I respect your right to view things exactly as you do for you. But to argue it for others in the manner you do, and I must object.
No logic. Premise based on fairy tales. That is what you believe in Perry.
So in view of the foregoing, why would I try to find the illogic in the reconciliation of Jesus when the whole thing is illogical?
In short, your starting line belief that we are sinners in need of reconciliation based on the eating of a fruit by 2 naked people in some garden in the middle east after being talked into it by a snake is illogical. It's all downhill from there.

I have a crush on Canada right now. But my love will always be the USA. (that isn't to say I won't get some 'Canada' on the side whenever I can )
