If you don't like the way the guy is treating you don't give him anymore of your time. You have to make the decision to decide if he's worth all the hassle. If he is then put up with it and stop complaining about it and if he's not then don't waste anymore time with him.
Its not that hard. Just make up your mind.

Agnostic Apostate Morals Kick In
by COMF indespite my response in teejay's "taboo" thread - http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.asp?id=25580&site=3 - in which i supported the idea of polyamory, i am presently in a relationship which is monogamous by mutual agreement.
i was fascinated and intrigued by the lady, and attracted to her, enough to make that commitment when she explained that it had to be that way or we'd need to go separate ways.. that relationship is presently at a rough spot, one which i described to somebody recently as "that point you reach, where all the spark is gone but you haven't put it out of its misery yet.
" her parents have been visiting from out of state since wednesday (it's saturday as i write) and we haven't seen each other since last monday.

I was in a similiar situation a few years back with two former girlfriends. I broke up with one before hand but we were still on good terms and had started going out with another girl. I ended up at the old girlfriend's house one night and there was that attraction that you talked about. She started to kiss me and I went along with it for a few minutes but stopped it before it went to its eventual destination and didn't do it anything else.
Its nice knowing that even though I may have slipped a little bit hardly anything happened. Considering the current status with your relationship I commend you even more for your actions. To everyone who is judging him for what happened who has never been in the same situation I must agree with the thought that you really can't say what you would do until you're in that situation. -

Speaking from experience my life is much better by not caring if people like me. I'm human and its not my nature to worry if people like me or not. I do what I think is right and if others don't like it they know where they can go. Truth be told the people I hang out with appreciate my honesty.
Do you not like my postings? If you don't, oh well, I'm not going to sweat it. If anyone else doen'st like it I'm not going to change them because of what someone else thinks. Truth be told I come to this board because I have plenty of free time and enjoy it. If someone doesn't like what I'm saying I really couldn't care less because while I may like reading posts by various other people on here I couldn't really care less about just about everyone on here. Don't like it? Well, there's really not much you can do about it. -

No windows on Kingdom Halls?
by just_a_girl ini just read a post on another site i belong to (non-jw related) where a person asked if anyone knew why jws do not have windows on their kingdom halls.
a few other people responded saying that they had noticed the same thing, that they thought it was b/c the jws believe that windows are just an adornment, hence a distraction?.
in my 20+ years of being a jw and attending quick builds, i never noticed this ... it never even dawned on me ... and now that i try to think back, i can't remember there being any windows at the khs i attended?.

There are no windows so nonbelievers can't see the animal sacrifices performed every Tuesday afternoon. Also, whenever the CO comes into town the elders have large orgies and if there are windows people can take pictures. Those pictures can be quite the good blackmail so they just stopped putting windows in so no one could take pictures.

Think of the possibilities....

a couple of examples: .
a friend of mine, an elder in a rural northern kentucky congregation, stepped down from his position a couple of years ago, and when confronted by the elders, he basically told them in no uncertain terms to 'leave him and his family alone.

Who cares? Quit worrying about if people like you or not and just worry about if you're happy. From what I've seen I know alot of people aren't fond of me and never have been. The big question for me has always been why would I want them to? I like who I am and what I do so if others don't like me its their loss, not mine. Try it, life is much more fun this way.

Go. You're not a JW anymore (remember? they kicked you out) so you don't have to play by their rules about being disfellowshipped. If it makes someone else uncomfortable that's their problem, not yours.
As for the blood issue, I'd say do all you can to have some put in her. Look at it this way, she may get pissed off at you but at least she'll be alive and able to get pissed off at you. So you went against the WTBTS's stance on blood? What's the worst that will happen, you'll get killed when their small and petty version of god kills everyone off? Since you're DF'd that'd happen anyways. Remember, she's not in sound mind and I'm guessing courts don't particularly care for cults that tell their members to refuse a medical procedure that is needed to save their life. Sure, your siblings will get pissed off at you but hey, since you're being shunned already why not give them a decent reason for it?
Sorry if I'm being overly harsh here but in times like this I just can't see any good of hiding away or cowering from this stupid cult. They're the crazy ones so they should be the ones that have to hide away from you. -

Ever shun a JW?

after many years of limited contact, i don't ever want to see or talk to one of my jw cousins.. here are some things she has done.. 1. my mother was disfellowshipped because she could not quit smoking.
at a family gathering at a nonjws house, my cousin said my mother should not be invited because she was disfellowshipped.

Who says you need a lawsuit to get better schools? I think that all schools should be top notch. I agree whole heartedly that good schools are needed in bad neighborhoods. When I say bad neighborhoods I mean S. central LA where blacks are by far the majority as well as in Kentucky mountain communities where there is probably one black guy in the whole country.
As far as having this big national identity to celebrate and be proud of, its called AMERICAN. You want to know what race I am? American. You know what nationality my parents are? American. You want to know what traditions I celebrate? American. I know some people may be immigrant to this country so for them its understandable to be rather fond of their customs and traditions but even more important for their children instead of trying to force your traditions and customs on them let them get their own as Americans. Yes, those who don't know history are condemmed to repeat it but instead of focussing on all the things from the past why not work to make things in the future better.
Someone was talking about how this is a form of closure for them. What?!?!? None of the people suing were ever slaves. Sure, almost all of them may have faced racism in its ugliest forms but you were never a slave. At some point in time someone has done something to one of my ancestors. Chances are their decendants are still alive somewhere. Am I pissed off because of what may have happened to my ancestor and bitter about it? No. It happened a long time ago and has absolutely NOTHING to do with me so I couldn't care less. For all that, my ancestor my have been very deserving of what happened to them. Plain and simple there is nothing of yours still open that needs to be closed.
As for the person who says if the government allows claims to be filed then they'll do it because if the government says its ok then it must be alright. Remember that slavery wasn't illegal for quite a long period of time. The government said it was just fine to own slaves. You better watch out if you take the money because a hundred years or so down the road your idiot decendants may get sued because you did something was condoned by your government.
