Would you join a "Letters to the Editor" Campaign?
by LennyinBluemont ini just finished reading randys thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/128072/1.ashx).
it occurs to me that his initial post here, with a bit of re-wording and reducing it to maybe three short paragraphs, would make an excellent letter to the editor of our local papers.
what if we all embarked on a letter-writing campaign to our local papers, using this as a basis?

I am working on this for sure! I live in Phoenix, where the "Knocking" free showing is tentative. I will write PBS and the Arizona Republic definitely. I am considering the idea of "picketing" when there is the pre-showing although being public is not my thing (even tho I did "street work" for the WT Society hundreds of times, yuk!) I am contacting an attorney regarding possibly the legal requirement of a permit,etc.
I am considering a sign saying "Knocking Their Members Around".

the clips i saw only gives a very "positive" biased message for jws, not the through & through facts.. pbs will be showing this in may.

The clips I saw only gives a very "positive" biased message for JWs, not the through & through facts.
PBS will be showing this in May. There will be free showings at colleges, libraries & museums (alarming, since such places would seem to give a supporting validity) throughout the US so far starting April 17 in Idaho then elsewhere thereafter.
I've only seen the free clips at their site. It is alarming!
Just wondering if anyone will be "picketing" these showings?
My sign would say "Knocking their members around" !!! :)

WTS Has Lost +35% of Elders in US Since 1994????
by Seeker4 inzack, on another thread, said he heard this figure from the platform at both the 2006 elders' school and his recent pioneer school:.
that there were 93,000 elders in 1994, and less than 60,000 today, in the united states.. i thought these figures deserved their own thread, as they are shocking to me, and to see if anyone else has heard anything similar.. i'll post a link to the other thread as well.

"Balanced" elders soon tho become under the influence of the older totalitarian elders/organization and hence comes the "crises of conscience" or not, but then comes the decision to accept the totalitarian religious rulers who either grate away their genuine love of the people, and/or their health.

Hello Beep-Beep,
Why is it, that it takes someone to be killed in a traffic section for a "STOP!" sign to finally go up?! Is it the people crying for this request to be the ones accused?
We only hope that our indignant cry will be heard. The GB is not listening/caring! People have been killed or have had much personal anguish in this issue. Where will the "STOP!" on this insidious "blood issue" come from? Hopefully, the media will help and we only hope the "voice" of these beautiful 6 babies is crying out to all!!

What "double-talk" the GB masters for their people!!
Webster's for "double-talk" explains: 1. language that appears to be earnest and meaningful but in fact is a mixture of sense and nonsense. 2. inflated, involved, and often deliberately ambiguous language.
There is no "simple" truth in this organization and only burdens mostly good-hearted people to try to understand this stuff called "spirituality" but is only insanity.

"my daughter should have had open heart surgery years ago and she would have been too young to know anything about it.
instead, she is about to face it now....the surgeons were relectant to do it when we were jws and she was so young.

Dear Chuckyy,
You deserve all the "pride" of a wonderful father now. We must have all the "hope" that can be for your daughter now. She now isn't denied but provided for the care she deserves. You must "boast" now that your daughter is "free" to have a fuller life. Focus on these good things now.
I, myself, too passed up college. Pioneered, Bethel, blah, blah. Married and had five children. Marriage ended, became the single mom with five children. I work full time, no degree. However, the "organization" didn't get my children and now four of the five now have their college degrees and the fifth is going on his GI loan after military. Yes, with time, your life will have a good list far outweighing that empty, extremely negative world we once were in.
Please keep us up-to-date regarding your daughter and so many best wishes,

I feel so much for most JWs on this blood issue! What a complication for most! Most will not understand and "stuff it down" and hope they will never have to deal with it personally . .as I did in the early 60's when I was in my early teens. I found it difficult then to accept that "Disfellowshipment" would be an issue to accept blood . . .but then, I went on.....I vacation pioneered throughout high school and then, after graduation, pioneered for five years and then to Bethel for five years. I married there . . our "marryin' Sam" was Nathan Knorr - 3rd president of the WTS (I actually didn't want him to marry us in '73 - another story).I got pregnant, we left Bethel in '74,, I became a "Mom"! Re-evaluation of my life, youth, Bethel world, the Governing Body and child-raising began. I tell my children, they saved my life! (A longer story! :)) My children's father (still a JW, I guess) and I divorced many years ago. None of my five children are in the "Organization" and proudfully, they have "Free Minds".
Anyway, I hope through this website and others, Randy's efforts, and your efforts, no matter how diversified, that we can spare others and help them to move on more quickly than some of us.
