Not possible. I think only the individual himself/herself can do it. Only the individual can reach out who realizes that he deep within needs more understanding, more sense, more individual honesty. It's scary. Why would anyone want to find out he was conned and then to feel "stupid" and robbed of his best (youth, money, education, his heart, the real story?) However, I have found and still finding that it is worth it.

Is It Impossible To Reach A Devout JW ???
by minimus ini wonder.
a very typcal witness may see the obvious negatives that jws know they have.
they might acknowledge that there's often a lack of love, that the elders can be demanding, that "new light" can change long cherished beliefs in an instant.......but still they cling on and resist any sort of intellectual discussion as to why the witnesses are off soooooo many times.....what gives??

How Long Did It Take You To Snap Out Of Watchtower Think?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #000099; } .style2 { font-size: 16px; font-family: arial; color: #000099; } .style3 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } --> how long did it take you to snap out of watchtower think?it took me better than a year to let go of watchtower think.
the teachings held on to me.
more so than the emotions and i did not have family in the organization to tie me down.. disconnecting yourself from watchtower thinkwhen you first discovered what the society was behind the scenes how long did it.

No "snap" - maybe they would have had to put me "away" if it happened that way. It was evolutionary for me. Like peeling an artichoke, Ray Franz' book Crises of Crises finally took care of the heart of it all for me. Took about 8 years.

Do you believe you have a particular purpose in life?
by journey-on ini ask this because as a jw, you are programmed to think your only purpose is to preach the good news of the kingdom....period.
but more and more, i've noticed in my own life a strong pull toward something i won't elaborate on, but it has me thinking that maybe we really do each have a particular purpose and it's up to us to discover what it is.
i know i'm kind of new to the forum, but please let me know if any of you have experienced this same kind of unusually strong pull toward something you can't fully explain.

The Wt organization implanted in us to have this grand purpose part of worldwide, earthshattering, everlasting cause, only find it a complete con. Now I usually try keeping it simple as possible is more fulfilling to me, more loving, more peaceful, more joy.

How else is someone suppose to feel when one realizes they've been conned? I have moved on, recovered and feel I have many more plusses than minuses in my life overall by far. However, when one is aware that the "con" is still going on freely and so boastfully, one wonders what can be done for the "con's" exposure and for justice.

WTS's two 'classes' of Christians is completely artificial
by yaddayadda inplease read the below excerpt from a 1996 questions from readers on the difference between the little flock and other sheep.
the article makes it very clear that both classes receive the holy spirit and there is absolutely no discernible difference whatsoever between the 'anointed' and the 'other sheep'.
the society is well aware there is no practical difference at all between these two so-called 'classes' of jw christians.

So the two classes are: the first class GB and the 2nd class are the faithful & discreet and other sheep in reality.
How is the term "governing body" in NWT Bible, translated in the other versions?

Dirty Rotten WTS
by cultswatter inaugust 15, 1996 watchtower in the following 'questions from readers" article.. questions from readers:.
the reports for some years show that the number partaking of the memorial emblems increased slightly.
does this suggest that many new ones are being anointed with holy spirit?.

Wow! It took them 70+ years to reopen the heavens again! Nice of them.

Do you like being a parent or grandparent better?
by avidbiblereader ini would have never thought that i would like being grandfather but i enjoy it more than being a parent, anyone else feel the same way?.
oh, by the way, my darlings are my new avatar, it is so fun being a grandfather and seeing the next generation come along, anyone else feel this way?.
abr.

Grandparent,,,you get to tap into the child within yourself, thru them. You get to do that with your own children too (had 5) but there's still the work load. But as grandparent, you get the fun stuff. I hope to leave "fond memories" to my grandchildren, that I didn't have with my own grandparents.

Welcome!
You know, the WT created a facade image of friends, thousands of "brothers & sisters", etc, when in reality for the most part is only a "bus stop conversation" with most. Actually, in reality, ones only have so much time to be there for very good friends and the friends only have so much time to be truly there for you (thru the good, bad & the ugly stuff as life is). One person said if you have "true" inner heart kind of friends as, perhaps as many as the fingers on one hand, then you are truly blessed. Friends come in all kinds of degrees. I think, at least you will find some people here, possibly to some degree of friendship, who will certainly relate to a unique part of you.

http://www.360lawton.com/portal/These showings are starting,,I got the DVD,,it seems many JWs seem to really like it,,I am still critiquing,,it shows two JW families in emotional issues, one going thru liver transplant (had the grandma there, not JW,who did not agree with "no blood" stance but was there) and the other, a Jew, Joseph Kempler (who had been in a concentration camp) & after converted to JW, a lot of info. There are other interviews, like one a doctor (who was clear that the effort of developing non-blood techniques is "not" because JWs are demanding it but because of low blood banks supply) and another individual discussing civil rights, explaining JWs did have a part of opening rights or legal civil rights for themselves but (interestingly) also for other groups, such as feminists and gay rights, etc. Universities, schools, libraries etc are now showing this film across the USA for the next couple months and on PBS in May. The film leans pro-JW. Does mention shunning but did not elaborate about that. I don't have a clue how this will impact non JW viewers. The presentation seems to suggest, though not agreeing with teachings of JWs, to possibly have a degree of respect toward them.
