At least any publicity would be important, how bottom line that Spain's JW money, congregation/branch property is ownership of the WTS, New York, U.S.A. which holds multi-million dollar properties worldwide.

Elder giving special talk has lunch with us...shuts me down for asking about society money..lol?
by Witness 007 inwe had a nice lunch with the elder giving the "special talk" but the conversation turned toward the cancelled bookstudy....well i went on to explain how knorr made too many meetings for brothers with families and how good it was to have a free night {even though i go to one meeting a week} then i said: "well, headquarters seems to have a very buisness smart brother working there with the publications now for donations due to tax and selling all those buildings in the heart of new york for millions and moving out....{elder interupts me] "yes, but, jehovah is the one who is buisness smart brother..." i thought wtf!
weird response, like was it too un-spiritual?
did jehoover really "tell" brothers to sell in new york?

Would you rather see the WTS move mainstream or just collapse in a heap?
by ThomasCovenant inmaybe eventually the wts will adapt and change and try to go mainstream.. as 'new shite' shines brightly then;.
maybe eventually celebrating birthdays and even christmas will be 'allowed' without too many repercussions.. maybe eventually the 'blood' issue will fade away and 'brothers' wil be allowed the whole lot of fractions together at the same time.. maybe eventually disfellowshipping and particularly shunning will be seen as unloving and done away with.. personally i would rather this wouldn't happen.. i would prefer to see the wts collapse in the mire even with all the emotional fallout there would be to those still in having their crutches pulled away from them.. i don't want the wts to modify and adapt and go more gentle on the rank and file.. i want them to get more harsh with the brothers.. i want it to go down, not along.. am i being too cruel to those still in?.
would the more loving caring attitude be to hope that the wts changes for the better?.

Collapse. They don't have the creativity nor charisma to mainstream successfully.. They could break up into scattered small groups of mostly older people but at least the worldwide global connectivity would dissolve. At least the youth would see it at totally unsuccessful for any possible future for them.

ANNOUNCEMENT
Brenda Lee, author of OUT OF THE COCOON: A YOUNG WOMAN’S COURAGEOUS FLIGHT FROM THE GRIP OF A RELIGIOUS CULT, will be interviewed in two days: MONDAY, MAY 11.
Tune into “The Chosen” at 6 p.m. Mountain Time (8 p.m. Eastern Time) for approx. 1 hour. To listen live via your computer, go to:
The call in number if you'd like to make a comment during the show, or ask a question, is:
1-877-932-9766 (toll free)
One of the things I hope to discuss is the upcoming July '09 Awake magazine in which the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, under the heading “IS IT WRONG TO CHANGE YOUR RELIGION?” instructs Jehovah's Witnesses:
"No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.”
For someone like me who has been shunned by my family for the last 28 years because I found the Jehovah Witness beliefs unacceptable, this statement is clearly riddled with ignorance and unfathomable hypocrisy! (Email me if you'd like to receive a scan of the article.)
I also intend to discuss why I believe the Watchtower is a cult and why we shouldn't be afraid to use that word.
If you miss the interview but want to hear it later, check my website for the recorded show about a week later at: www.outofthecocoon.net.
Please post or pass this information along to anyone who may be interested. Thanks.

PS. As most of you know, I'm going to be featured, along with three other cult survivors, on "The Secret Lives of Women," in either July or August. The segment will air on WE (Women's Entertainment), a nationally televised cable program. I will keep you up to date when I learn more about the air date.

Watchtower Society becoming religion just for old people
by Gayle inthe young people aren't putting up with the religion empty demands.

he (straight a student, musically gifted & in band, college bound) made it clear that his grandmother was not invited because of her very disrespectful judgmentalism toward his parents who he respects totally.

He (straight A student, musically gifted & in band, college bound) made it clear that his grandmother was not invited because of her very disrespectful judgmentalism toward his parents who he respects totally. He will not tolerate it at all. His grandmother is confused by his decision. I, as his aunt, am so proud of him and respect his decision. Some old people deservedly reap what they sow.

Maybe they got 'new light' that the Watchtower logo is a pagan symbol, a phallic symbol after all.

The clip really instills fear mostly, stating at the end they were "believers" from the "gospel." I think the vast majority of Muslims just want a better life, especially for their children. Many are behind decades from 1st world cultures. Not too long ago here, Catholics had very large families. Some Muslims are already educated and most want better educations for their sons and also their daughters. I won't be here in 2050, but no doubt, people will laugh at our fear of Muslims then. Remember, not too long ago, when someone different moved into the neighborhood, was the expression, "well, there goes the neighborhood." We have changed in our prejudices and I hope will continue to do so. Good to read: http://www.prb.org/Articles/2008/muslimsineurope.aspx?p=1

I suspect JWs to win. $400,000 will be a chunk for the community to absorb. And more 'knock-knocks' Saturday mornings.
