wow! This is very dramatic!! Thank you for all your work and insights! JWs may work more but always result in minimal production.

Remarkable Statistic - Bible Studies compared to Baptisms
by jwfacts ini am surprised i have not noticed this before, particularly since this is one of the most important statistics, and so have just added the new graphs to watchtower publisher statistics.. the number of bible studies generally trends roughly with the number of publishers on a one to one basis.
however, the number of baptisms has not been rising.
this has resulted in a rapidly falling conversion rate.

2012 report analysis - countries with reduced publisher figures

With the claim that the WTS is downsizing and merging branches?
2011 Branch staff: 20,595
2012 Branch staff: 21,612 Increase 1,017 ???
Then, for special pioneers, missionaries and traveling overseers:
2011 - $173 Million
2012 - $184 Million
???

Most countries decreased in Avg. Aux. Pio. - about 10.7% average decrease, U.S. Avg. Aux .Pio. decreased 15.8%. I suspect the WTS will lower their bar for Aux. Pio, possibly for 30 hr requirement for 'all' months of the year.
Worldwide Memorial Attendance decreased 1.9%. U.S. Memorial Attendance decreased 2.4%.
Worldwide "Peak"Pubs increased 1.6%. U.S. "Peak" Pubs. increased .26% (only about 1/4 of 1%)

Any "friends" of Bethelites get a 2013 Yearbook yet?
by Gayle ini know the yearbook isn't on jw.org yet?
but in the past, some have gotten a yearbook gift sent to them by now?
things seem 'quiet' about the 2012 worldwide service report too..

factfinder,,thx for your point. Really, why have a yearbook production anymore? The WTS have been putting their their little articles about certain countries, their history etc in WT articles anyway. The yearbook is not a "placement" item,,not much of a moneymaker for sure. Their Daily text is separate anymore anyway.
In the future, in the 'likelihood' of decreases in many countries, it would be too embarrassing the print out a list of negatives.

Maybe baptisms just aren't the big deal anymore. Numbers getting smaller,,and mostly more of the kiddies getting baptized. Probably, getting embarrassing to an organization boasting big time growth,,haha.

Will the Watchtowers growth in the third world keep them around for decades to come?
by tootired2care ini suspect the wt is going to continue to see slowing growth in all western lands as time goes on.
it seems to me though that there is so many potential suckers out there in the third world that will keep coming into the wt because of lack of internet, education or falling victim to love bombing as many of us did here at one time.
i think it's going to get really tough for them as the western land money dries up though.
-
Gayle
Some could be drawn to a promise of a "new world system." However, WTS rules and policies, demands will burn them out more quickly.
The third-world countries have a high demand to work as much as possible just to have basic needs. The WTS has no real understanding or sympathy of what that means. Such third-world citizens utilize word of mouth, to express an American religion that is too demanding and truly not helpful to them. They need schooling and medical help available, of which the WTS will offer none of that. At least, many other religions will try to do some with this upfront, immediate need.

Bethel Tour anyone? Stay at any of these hotels. Pay with your credit card, but the Bethel Branch will get the "Reward Points" NOT YOU !!!
by Calebs Airplane inatlantis... you rock !!!.
http://www.sendspace.com/file/z9ogx0.
by the way... notice how this boe warns elders not to share this "confidential" info with hotel personnel.... these guys are such scammers..

?
All rewards points will be credited to the branch office. If you have any questions, you may contact the Central Tour Desk at Patterson by calling (845) 306-1000
******************************************************
wow,,couldn't believe the gall of them automatically taking the "rewards points." Boy, the WTS takes all it can from their members!
