Interesting,,guess they have to get "futuristic" as their "present" day dramas are all depressing. They have no way to embrace any joy in their "present." They are emotionally suffocating.

period, that was it.. then they started incorporating a "modern day" application of the ot drama where actors in the present day reflected on the story.. then they started using some highly fictionalized nt characters in dramas (never jesus of course).
in the past few years we've been getting more "modern dramas", just about people in the present dealing with their "problems".

Shows the 'depressed' state of JW outlook. It is such an unhealthy state and they choose to remain in that for the rest of their lives. ugh.
Shows that JWism is their "drug" of choice, and some have another 'drug' or two additional.

Week of worry
by gma-tired2 inmy husband and i have had a long week worrying we would lose our niece, and yes the blood issue was very much part of the problem.
it is new to us to actually have the blood issue affect our family, but it really makes you think.
we would have immediately given her blood, but she and husband are still jws.

No one from the Blood Liason has even been there.
That is strange. isn't it? No elders either? The nieces mom (tho DF'd) is there and obviously that is the young couples wishes. Sounds like the couple doesn't want any JWs in cong. around? Hmmm.

Unbelievable Experience in Yearbook
by gingerbread ina number of years back i heard a story of a young girl in a congregation ( i have some good friends in this hall ) who had an amazing field service experience.
it was so amazing that it was retold in the 2007 yearbook!.
it is retold in the highlight of the past year section.

So, Whats the real reason JWs are no concessions open at the DC and are discouraged from supporting nearby vendors?
by BU2B inso ever since they discontinues the food service at the assemblies and dcs, jws have been "lovingly encouraged" to pack a light lunch to eat.
the secretary at the hall that i am held hostage in said during the service meeting that even a sub would be too heavy to eat, and that a light salad was the best option.
what do you fine people think is the real reason why, in the absence of food service, jws are told to not leave the building at lunch?

Must have been a lawsuit! someone ate something there, got sick or died. Lawsuits change wt policies/arrangements.
Or, WT population is aging. Many old folks, and not old, are on restricted diets.
