candace conti in particular did an amazing job, and the comments from the journalists show how appreciative they were of her bravery in speaking out on such a personal issue.. bill was also informative with some of the firsthand accounts he was able to give.. .

Missionaries to vacate all missionary homes

latest news from a source (missionary in foreign land):.

no more missionary homes anywhere in the world.. all missionaries presently in missionary homes must vacate.

must get housing on your own / from the locals.. circuit and district overseers have moved into many of these former missionary homes.. reasons: liability, cost savings, real estate to be sold or used for other purposes.. needless to say, many of these longtime servants are very unsettled.

Many questions tho,,are these missionaries basically going to be "special pioneers" now,, with some small allowance to be given yet at least for a short period of time?

Why would COs be living in former missionary homes?? Aren't they suppose to be living week to week at homes in congregations they visit?

I suspect these former missionaries, if they can get back "home" for next summer's conventions, maybe many to most will stay, hopefully their families will be able to help them out.

Wow,,so wonderful for him to be able to live his talents of song/music. I am sure he is enjoying his freedom. Terrible how the WTS would 'suffocate' that natural spirit right out of JWs. Happy for him.

marilyn manned the helpline for many years, and touched the lives of so many effected by the wt.

she will be missed.. coffee .

Marilyn was one of the modern-day proactive pioneers of the so-called "apostasy." She helped by phone so many JWs to process and encourage many depressed with their JW life and experience. Before Internet it was a more lonely road.

There have been many, that left the WT in the '80s' and '90s' that have passed away now. Now with so many Internet sites, people can link up with so many, process coming out of the JW "cult" more quickly and with more knowledge and strength. It is very satisfying to see the development of ex-JWs and to see 'immediate' exposure to every 'move' of the frantic, desperate WTS. The WT cracks are widening and more people are sensing their 'stink.'

No bibles at any kingdomhalls, strong rumors the annual meeting is regarding the bible...

from relatives and contacts in 2 states, there have been no bibles available for a couple months.

one person mentioned to me as well about supposed quotes in the magazines from other bibles.

rumors are that they will announce a new bible, or possibly tell everyone to buy a bible from another place that they approve of.

Can't see how families will be able to afford multiple Bibles at $40-$50 each. No problem back in the day for families when Bibles were $1 each. There could become a trend of a "family" Bible,,(maybe an extra page to record marriage dates and baptisms, but to be almost untouchable).

Due to Oct 5th WT Biz Meet all meetings for that week are cancelled

i was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.

i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.

that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

Interesting. No one will miss the mid-week meeting I am sure, except for the self-righteous or socially needy.

Makes me go further to wonder. I didn't think ever that the "congregation book study" would ever be dropped (I know it was merged into the TSM and SM) Could the TMS and SM ever be dropped also, I mean, merged to Sunday? I mean, couldn't the Watchtower still have their '5 meetings' choke hold all held on one day as well? How far back was it when the organization only had Sunday meetings? (Sorry, maybe this should be for another thread?)
