They are desperate. Not enough single bros, couples, that would want to? or would qualify?,,not enough older people that can 'finance' themselves or have good health.

Watchtower schools--why the consolidation?
by wannaexit infirst there was the ministerial training school ( mts), then changed to the school for single brothers.
most recently the school for christian couples (replacing gilead).
all of a sudden news comes out the all these schools are consolidated under one umbrella: the evangelizing school --open to single brothers, single sisters, married couples all the way up to 65 years of age.. i wonder as to the motive behind all these changes this year..

It's great that "Jehovah's Witnesses" and "Scientology" are getting this exposure on tv about the "shunning" tactics, involving to the 'core' of families. People shake their heads at the horribleness of it.

How is that defined at Wiki? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organizational_structure_of_Jehovah's_Witnesses
The Governing Body and its committees supervise operations of thirty zones
I know there are 96 'branches' with 209 countries and territories, plus 30 "Other Lands" now as noted in the 2013 Yearbook. But, what and 'where' are these 30 zones. Closed down branches recently have just been shifted to some other branch. Is it possible eventuality that there is a downsizing happening to the "30 zones" (though each handling several countries, like U.S. handles U.S., Turk & Caicos, & Bahamas.)
Just seeming to be an organizational shifting (branches to zones?).

I told the elders that I would take blood and donate blood
by Daniel1555 ini found it important to be honest with my wife.
so i told her about my conscience decision that in a medical urgency i want blodless medicine but if a transfusion of blood or the 4 prohibited components is necessary to save my life or health i would accept it.
this would apply especially also for our child (that is not such a problem as in our country the wts recommends to comply with doctors as they have the right to decide concerning minors).. i showed her the reasons why i came to that conscience decision (biblical and logical reasons) and that jehovah and jesus do not like anyone to die because of this wrong bible application.. .

Good you were honest with your wife. However, now that she told the elders, and if they also hear you say that, you are voicing opinion contrary to the organization doctrine. If you won't keep your "opinion" to yourself, they may not call it "apostate." But they could call it "brazen." That's a possible DF offense. They could "fear" you sharing this with others in the cong. It would no doubt influence others & possibly get others to think.
Glad you "don't fear them at all."

Interesting. What addresses were available to Tracy to send this letter? Were they personal addresses of known JWs? Or, was it to Kingdom Halls?

You have a positive social need. Isn't there some interest of yours, some sport, educational, arts, groups you could meet with? Isn't there a class of interest you could pursue? Isn't there 'some' interest for you, aside from nothingness. JWs can only have 'nothingness' aside from WTism, but many long to pursue something they love, but are waiting for the 'new world' which never comes.
Outside the WT you now have 'freedom.' What will you 'do' with your personal freedom? It is very sad when a former slave, wishes to go back to slavedom.

Hello everyone! I could use some advice
by SnailsPace2 inmost of the time i just lurk .
lots of times throughout the day.
however, something has come up that i would like some advice on, especially from members who were exiting the jw religion with young children.. .

Concerned if he already believed his young friends would be destroyed at 'A,' that JWs and grandparents will reinforce an already indoctrinated judgement that this would include his parents too. Beware!
A young child doesn't need to know anything else but love, joy and peace and respect for his parents. You have the right and responsibility to provide security and unconditional love for him. The JW life for youth is to feel always guilty and feel love from God and JW organization is only conditional and that God will 'destroy' those that disobey. Is this what you want for your son? This is not healthy for a young child to grow up with this complexity and contradiction.
You can provide simple little Bible story books if you wish, for his age appropriate. WT programs don't have age appropriate programs. Keep him mentally challenged for his age. Have teaching dvds and books available for him. Find some friends for him through school or good neighborhood friends.
Please don't give up on 'your' parenting concerns and abilities, over to your in-laws. They had their chance and opportunity with their son. Must be a reason why he has a more 'moderate' belief concern for his son. The WT is not a 'moderate' religion but it is extreme in manipulative control.
I had 5 children when I realized that the WT is not true. It was gradual for me. Kids adapt very easily. They were happy with the changes. Sports were big for them. Then there's music and arts too. Having school friends was great for them. School work and learning was high value, encouragment all along the way for college some day. There's plenty to be busy about and having a positive attitude along the way. There are the normal day to day things in life, on what is right or wrong, appropriate or not appropriate,, good or bad. You, as the parent, are the one to teach that, instruct, along the way. They all have put themselves through college now. Some are married and & parents now. I love being a grandparent and gladly trust their parents to be the parents now.
So many best wishes to you both!! YOU can do it!
