Still seems strange that anyone could just send in a letter requesting "denial of an appeal," at this stage, 15 mos. into the appeal case (the last 3 mos. it's been quiet). I guess so, as it shows it is recorded received. Guessing the Court has been reviewing the 'written' briefs thoroughly these last few months?

ugh,,so sorry to hear this crappy situation for you. Sorry, I don't have any success points about this situation.
However, do I understand she doesn't take your son to meetings? Not to use your son at all in this battle. However, try to throw positive energy into your son now. Use Sundays as family time. She should always feel welcome to come on your outings. Create for your son a positive life. What does he love? Always develop in him love for schooling, learning, the positives of this life now. Make your bond with him, with love, attention, and activities, activities, activities.
The WT world is so boring for a child. You can offer a world of positives, the WT world only teaches negatives, and a false dream world. Talk about things in life at his age level, teaching thinking ability for him. Express your 'unconditional love' to him, no matter what. He will never hear such talk in the JW world. Teach him to also love his mom and always to give respect to her.
He will learn so many good things from you. He will not forget. If you have that door open for him to feel like he's got a true choice, it is very most likely (99+% likely), he will be drawn to your real world. He will not be drawn to a world that DFs. He will have you to encourage college. In time, hopefully, he will have school friends and sports friends, or ones with similar interests.
Your wife has a right to believe as she will. Also, try to hope she will of her own re-evaluation see a more positive life than the one she grew up in, one that DFs, and see that is not the world she wants for her son.

Of course, the WT makes no acknowledgement, for ones now old and those that followed the WT admonition to not have children now, and were encouraged to wait till the soon to be 'new world.' Or, the ones that went to Bethel, missionary work etc. and were demoted with no retirement programs achieved. Their articles only criticized any old ones that are now discouraged and very disappointed. There must be a lot of 'bitter' aging ones there.
Well, too late for them to recover such sacrifice. But, I hope the younger batch see this issue and give them second thoughts about what they should reconsider. There must be an under-the-current message, though not directly spoken, yelling out to the younger ones, "Run, young ones, Run."
Hopefully, this causes more to develop a "Plan B." Their younger ones must start considering 'long-term' and hopefully the very young ones start considering college, getting decent homes, or other real life investments as they work, and also to find personal joy and happiness along the way. Don't just wait it out as dead GB, old now GBs, their aging parents, dead grandparents did.

Glad you're going to college and no longer believe the WT. It is a very bad and insane thing that the WT leaders discourage college. They do no long term thinking, ( well, except now to their advantage to build anew & move upstate New York). When I finally realized it wasn't truth at all, I had 5 young children. I stressed every day their need for college. All have finished college now and grateful for that realistic direction they got. Now I am a grandma. I never for one second missed the organization and its entrappings.
Best wishes to your schooling and independence and freedom of mind and heart!

That's what they (GB) gets,, They've so burden down families, kids, teenagers. The GB have burned down the life of the kids.. Hopefully,,kids are not wanting to pioneer right out of school.
Unfortunately, they'll probably pressure a few kids enough to do the part.
