Ms. Conti set out from the start to have the exposure of the WT policy about the 2-witness rule regarding pedophiles, she accomplished that. All court records verify now. The WT was hung by their own "Flock Book" (at the time) and elders' remarks in the court. She right from the start made clear her intention and Mr. Simon accepted that. I will not accept that the WT won this case, no matter what they say.
Originally, the Jury granted her $21M in 'punitive' damages. Later, she accepted the Judge, dropping it to $8M.
I wonder what "punitive damages is {to be} reversed with directions to 'enter judgment'" yet means. Does reversal absolutely mean $0?
It will be interesting to see if this goes further - to the CA Supreme Court now.

Charity Tribunal rejects Jehovah’s Witnesses charities' latest appeal attempt
Governance | Kirsty Weakley | 9 Apr 2015A Jehovah’s Witnesses charity has been refused permission to appeal a Charity Tribunal ruling that had denied it extra time to appeal against the opening of a statutory inquiry.
The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and appealed the Charity Tribunal’s decision not to extend the period of time that they had to file an appeal into a statutory inquiry that had been opened by the Charity Commission.
The charities had claimed that the ruling earlier this year that denied them extra time to appeal was unlawful. They both claimed that the 3 March ruling had three legal errors relating to whether the charity had a good reason for asking for an extension.
Alison McKenna, principal judge of the Charity Tribunal said in the latest ruling that she has “decided not to undertake a review as I am not satisfied that there was an error of law in my ruling”.
The 3 March ruling had criticised the delay to the Charity Commission’s investigation, and warned that this could result in “ongoing risks” to children.Trustees of the Manchester New Moston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses had appealed a decision to limit the questioning of a Commission case worker at an earlier hearing. McKenna said that having examined the grounds for appeal she was not "satisfied that they raise arguable errors of law" and refused permission for appeal.
Last summer the Charity Commission opened statutory inquiries into the two organisations, after the Manchester Evening News reported that Jonathan Rose, 40, an elder of the New Moston congregation, was jailed for nine months for abusing two women when they were young girls.
The paper reported that after his release the New Moston congregation conducted a series of “disfellowship” meetings to decide whether Rose should remain a member of the organisation, in which the women were required to recount their ordeal. At one meeting, Rose was present and allowed to ask questions. This article has been ammended to clarify that the two appeals concerned different points

for Millie
WT report:
2011 19,374,737 (worldwide) 2,563,518 (U.S.)
2012 19,013,243 - 2,502,055
2013 19,241,152 - 2,504,114
2014 19,950,019 - 2,505,825
So, 2012 showed a big drop on WW and US. 2013 showed slight increase from 2012 but still not as high as 2011. 2014 had a big increase for WW, but not much in U.S.

Petition to Revoke Scientology's Tax Exempt Status
by ABibleStudent infyi, if you feel that scientology's tax-exempt status should be revoked, you can sign a white house petition to revoke its tax-exempt status at https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/revoke-scientologys-tax-exempt-status.. i signed the petition even though i have mixed feelings about this petition.
i would prefer that dangerous cults like scientology be reformed by suspending its tax-exempt status until it makes needed changes and i do not like targeting a specific organization when the whole system should be changed.
on the other hand this type of action may help to promote debate about revising the tax codes in the us.. i do prefer revising the tax code like i wrote about in revise tax code to protect children from sexual abuse .. peace be with you and everyone, who you love,.

Barbara, I agree, I signed on also. The public are becoming more aware of religion corruption. If big business religion's corruption don't pay their share of taxes, then the rest of people have to pay.
