  Someone anonymously tipped the elders?

  so here an update on my current situation, in a nutshell i've been trying to quietly fade for the past 5 months.. well, my mom somehow found out that i am currently fading and that i live with my boyfriend (for more info on this check my previous posts) i told her yes i live with him and yes i no longer want to be a jw.

  anyways, yesterday she met my boyfriend.. awkward.

  and after lunch she pulled me aside to tell me that the po came up to her (he was part of my jc when i was reproved) he said to her "someone came to me and said - i cannot say who so they will remain anonymous- but that your daughter is living with someone" my mom confirmed and apparently he told her that i have one week to confess this, and if i don't my parents are obligated to tell them everything.. what kind of nonsense is that?

  Something about a letterhead from an attorney, throws in a protocol, lawyer to lawyer process and privileges. Then that letter must be sent to the WT Legal Department. Slows things down. I know of a few cases where, though there wasn't a 'formal announcement' made from the platform, there still is under the current 'shunning' done. However, at least some JW parents then feel justified to speak with their grown child, since it wasn't 'announced formally.'

  Timing is the key too, as once the announcement is read, then it's too late.

  2015 Service Report showed a decrease 6% for Ukraine. A sizable drop. Also, a 142 congs. less than 2014. What is going on there?

  ...and it's our duty to warn non-jws, or half awake jws about these events, as they start appearing in newspapers throughout the us, and abroad.

  it almost comes out as a promotional ad for the jw convention.

  the 'current events' editing staff of this paper likely has no idea what their promoting.

  Steve Lett was at Bethel in '69 already. He was my Book Study Conductor in the Brooklyn Heights Cong. for 6 mos. while I was in "Primary." That picture doesn't look like him.

  The Congregational Make Up Research Project: WTB&TS wants to know you.

  we have a bethel speaker on the english side.

  they're pretty regular up here since it's only three and a half hours drive from nyc.. but this is a special kind of visit.. it turns out he's involved in doing a special research project and the christian congregation of jw's wants to know us better.. in order for the broadcasting to address issues more meaningful for families, they want to know the demographic make up of the congregations.. he spoke with the secretary about young single publishers and couples 20-35 y.o.

  how are they employed.

  Why does a Bethelite need to go to a cong. for that? Can't the WT just send out a questionnaire to the cong. elders to answer that?

  Maybe the WT is trying to understand why many (66%?) of that group are leaving the WT and trying to figure out why that is happening? And trying to understand how to improve their "guilt" and other processes to improve on that stat?

  What would you say are the answers there with your particular cong.?

  Today's Study - Shun Disfellowshipped Family, Don't Marry Outsiders, Tell On Others!

  urghhh... what a disgusting study!7 a conflict of loyalties may arise when a close relative is disfellowshipped.

  for example, a sister named anne received a telephone call from her disfellowshipped mother.

  the mother wanted to visit anne because she felt pained by her isolation from the family.

  Will many JWs who have been relaxing or softening on this shunning issue toward their family members, (inactive, marked, df'd, da'd) in recent times, after today's meeting do a strong flip back into the harsh shunning? I have found this rollercoaster to be common. The GB sometimes find this 'leash' has relaxed and therefore do a 'yank' back to their loyal members.
