So, was that, after May broadcast (last year?) of request for donations, only $30M was received in July & Aug? So, with about 8M pubs., they only responded with not even $2 per month per pub.? Doesn't sound like much of a donation response!

I Think Their Is A Move Coming From Higher Ups To Get These Insane Idiot Out Of The Drivers Seat Of Jehovah's Chariot
by Brokeback Watchtower inlook at all the lawsuits, scandals, unsuccessful cover up, contribution shrinkage, stopped building project, and much more.
these guys are steering jehovah's chariot off a cliff if someone don't put the breaks on these delusional clowns.. so what do you think is there something a foot there at chemical dump clean up site warwick?
i bet you a coup is in the offing, because you know not everyone close to the governing body believes their bull shit but are playing along until the time is right to keep the wt ship from sinking like the titanic..

Material such as the film at the end of this years convention confirms that I was right to take my kids out the religion
by jambon1 init’s quite affirming to see the horrific material that they’re serving up at the convention this year.
aside from blatant homophobia, the scenes at the end of the convention that are discussed on another thread stoop to new levels of fear mongering.
it seems to occur to nobody inside the organisation that this kind of material could trigger fear, deprsssion, anxiety, stress.

Seems to have a message along with depressing music of a death march for everyone to get out in harms way deliberately. A suicide mission spirit. No one was hiding in little apartments or basement bunkers, like their previous videos or pictures showed. Like "Be Ready to Meet Your Death" but somewhere out of the blue last minute God/Jesus will save them. It is a depression inducing film for certain.

I have been out of org a few decades. But I can't imagine my young children then seeing such a production. Most parents don't allow their young children to watch "gun" movies, let alone ones with "automatic" guns. Then, it would have to be explained to the children that the unimpressive "bow and arrow" of God would be more powerful somehow- ? The music was depressive of course, kind of a death march. Young children growing up with this visual depressive content and fear for their future is abusive. The Governing Body are extremely insensitive to children and most never had any children themselves.

Bethelite statistics
by john.prestor inhey guys, i'm working on a paper about exploitation amongst jehovah's witnesses ( i'm also preparing a book about jehovah's witnesses and interaction ritual theory, and another paper about jehovah's witnesses and discrimination against women).
i'm trying to calculate as exact figures as i can concerning how much bethelites are paid.
does anyone know the monthly stipend as of now?

1 Calculate $14.00 in 1970 had the same buying power as $91.55 in 2018
Annual inflation over this period was about 3.99%
https://www.dollartimes.com/inflation/inflation.php?amount=1&year=1970
So $14/mo in 1970 had less value than $200-$300 a month now. Some Bethelites did side jobs ("g jobs") like
renovations/plumbing for their old car expenses/gas/beer.

Ex-jw Fifth interviews Bethelite from 1975. Well worth watching!
by Diogenesister inanother great interview by fifth here.
this lady was at bethel in 1975 and reminisces that many women at bethel expressed enormous regret at not having a family.
it seems that many witnesses back then were aware that watchtower really didn't know what they were talking about when it came to making predictions.. https://youtu.be/7dyooih3fji.

Is it possible to contact Joy? I left Bethel 6/74, Married at Bethel 10/73, got pregnant 6 mos. later so we left, best things to happen to me, I always tell her she (my daughter) saved me. I laughed hearing Joy singing as I also heard it "if you're nervous the service, have a baby."
Joy may have known my sister, Debbie Barr. They left around the time that Joy left maybe. Always glad to hear ones from Bethel leaving and many leaving the org. altogether. It's all such a laughter after several decades.

This probably sounds uppity. I'm saying it anyhow
by stillin inhas anybody else noticed a pattern that is here among us outcasts?
there seems to be, on average, a higher level of intelligence here than there is at the kingdom hall.
actually, intelligent conversation seems to be looked down upon among the witnesses.. also, the simple language skills found here seem to be above average compared to those among the witnesses.

They think they have found "truth" like it is mostly a done deal. They don't have to seek more info unless it is provided by their utility water company. Their water is polluted and limited. It is beyond me how they don't get bored out of their minds. Their repetition is suffocating.

Wow, youtube hit of woman entering KH to voice her opinion about the Lauren Stuart, shows over 52,000 hits. JoyceTaylor had been a JW about 30 years ago. Friended Lauren later years. That meeting was cancelled that she spoke at ( or interrupted.) Lauren had left org 5 years ago but apparently still had some impact of JW teachings/beliefs, had been a 'partaker.' Joyce Taylor was interviewed on another ex-JW site.

About a type of cult - not religious. Just a movie. However, about had several earmarks of a cult. Mind control, falsely making friendship for gaining sex slaves, willing to kill, even slaves willing to kill, false fronts.
Many, after one finely discovers a cult, one can spot others, of any kind, more easily.

The Perfect Storm in 2018?
by Wild_Thing ini have been sadly watching as the number of jws in other countries are decreasing (for the most part), while the numbers in the us are strangely increasing.
while i question the organization's self reporting numbers, i think 2018 may be the year for another mass us exodus.
leah remini's show will be focusing on jws in her show on a&e.

The WT is like a wild beast that needs 'new' blood. Without that it will only be ravenous, turning on their weak.
Religion can be a religion without converts for maybe a generation. It doesn't have much draw to keep their young. It seems most 'second' generation JW kids don't have the same strickness, not much WT idealism on their kids, than as how second generation were raised. Do you notice this?
