The past JW presidents would be rolling over in their graves (or whatever) that they're leaving Brooklyn. In the early 70's, the Brooklyn Heights newspaper had a complaint that JWs were taking over Brooklyn,,at breakfast, Knorr commented that "we're not just taking over Brooklyn, we're taking over the world".

by oompa ini was told today by a heavyweight elders wife, both of whom were at bethel for many years and are very well connected to the brooklyn brass, that all brooklyn bethel operations will be moved to wallkill and patterson.
in fact, there is a very exclusive walk-through next week for some of the top real estate investors/developers who will see all the properties, starting with the sands, and its lobby has now been remodeled to look just like a high-end hotel..................just fyi.................................oompa

Well, we went out after the memorial....
by megawatt inafter the memorial, we decided to go out and grab a bite to eat.
my family and i went out with a witness couple that we consider close friends.
for the last couple of weeks, i've expressed my views re: wts to my good friend openly and turns out he had the same thoughts and doubts as well.

It seems the only GB members I ever read about here is Jaracz and Losch. I think there are 7 others but never hear of the others. I know Barr is in his 90s, so that is understandable but are the others out there giving any special talks?

Elders come to see me...
by NanaR ini am now roman catholic :-).
the easter vigil mass (at which i was baptized) was 8 p.m. yesterday, and we had a meeting at the church yesterday morning.
so i went home for the afternoon to get ready for the evening.. so who else would show up at our door (during the three hours or so i was home all day) but two jw elders.

That you did not want to talk w/the elders was the right thing for you. You deserve your feelings, they are yours. I wouldn't go to the door for years to talk w/JWs, didn't want to waste my time. But you know what,,last week two fellas came by, I answered the door, I dominated the conversation for 6/7 min., they don't know me in this area. I stayed with one topic, blood,,and the flip-flops (vaccinations, organ transplants & blood fractions (what a contradiction, 90+% fractions okay now,, compare the issue that one cannot take a car,,but can take most of the parts separately,,all banned by their leadership at one time but now okayed), and one fella got the chance barely to say it was all conscience,,so I blurted out,"what will you do when blood transfusions are changed to be a conscience matter altogether?". They just told me to have a nice day and I said thank you, you do the same. Well, now I am preparing my 2nd sermonette on the pedofile issue next, I can hardly wait though now. I may be scratched from the territory card now. So be it!

i'm really interested to know if the recent watchtower article encouraged any to partake for the first time.

The Future of the Watchtower Society and the Internet
by DT init seems that the watchtower society was very ill prepared for the advent of the internet.
perhaps, some of the governing body thought the end would come before it became a big problem.
now it is a big problem and is only going to get worse.

Only the very old people and the very, very poor have no use for the computer or the internet. Of course, the WTS doesn't have any use for those two groups either. For the WTS to deny the internet is like banning the television, television won.
