i looked over the aug. 1 public watchtower and noticed the same changes i observed previously.. plainly put, it appears that they have simply run out of things to say and so are just filling up printing space!.
they devote 4 full pages to a bible reading schedule that could have been easily condensed into a couple sentences.
they have the same large graphics and typeset that eats up printing area.
newspapers all over the country, as well as local television stations are promoting "Armageddon sensationalism" to advertise the assemblies.
A few years from now when the "end" still hasn't come, then they can blame it on the "newspapers" and "television" for overstating their end times message and that, of course, that it isn't their fault. They always have a way of blaming everyone else and not themselves.
i am not sure sure i am accurate but while in west highland museum, i saw a pedigree that went back to around that time, tthat may have the time adam was supposedly created.

Yes, please write a book!! You should write something. I feel most here should write a book or even a booklet. My sister and I are trying to get our other 3 siblings to write a 5-piece symposium (?) of sorts, maybe still a booklet size. We'll see. We all here have a unique story and it must be told.

Yes,,probably it would only be one person, probably the PO or CO or an elder. I don't expect it would get beyond that. However, there are individual elders re-evaluating,,it does happen, I know several in the past that used to be elders.
I know some hope for a 'mass exodus' some day. However, in the mid-80s many of us hoped that too. Many wrote some government officials, and my brother did get a letter responding from Jon Kyl, Arizona Member of Congress, no opinion but a thank you. We (anonymously) even sent all the elders in the congregation (to their own home) a "Crises of Conscience" book each. We also sent one to Michael Jackson. We got no response but it wasn't returned either. Also, in '87 we had a huge gathering at a convention room at a hotel in Metrocenter, Phoenix. of ex-JWs, including Ray Franz, James Penton, Ed Dunlap, Ron Frye and several others. The television came out to film the group and did a news on that. A talkradio show was done that same weekend. My dad and brother had a huge full page article in the Phoenix Gazette then. Also, a couple of other ex-JWs, one who comes on this site here a lot had a huge article on him as an ex-JW. (I will scan some of these articles to send if you wish.)
I had hoped for a huge impact with all leaving then, with Ray's book and other books that the organization would be effected. But it didn't seem to. The organization grew ('75 a little over 2 million, now over 7 million) and was buying dozens of high end Brooklyn property). Was discouraging. It would have been so great to have the Internet then and YouTube. I, my siblings and our dad moved on with our lives, but not truly forgetting our past JW lives.
Of course, things seem to be different for the Watchtower now. Seems to be many factors/circumstances. Internet and YouTube are great. I am hopeful again. I cannot dare hope for a 'mass exodus' yet but I am 'watching' and willing to send letters again and emails. (Any who have addresses or emails for me, please PM me.)
last night my husband and i were out having ice cream @ culvers when we noticed a group of jws coming in after their meeting .. it seemed a celebration for one family.
we saw the father of the family was all dressed up and associating with everyone .
he had da'd himself over 20 yrs ago and has been blacklisted from family and friends this whole time .i guessed last night was his reinstatement to the cult .
I think probably most that go back, get reinstated, is because of family. I can't blame them. I recommend a small book by a former JW, "Going Undercover- To Rescue my Daughter" by Nancy J. Sage. I wish there could be a movie on that.

I just went to "yellowpages.com" and got all the Kingdom Hall addresses in Arizona - 76
the watchtower organization is without doubt doing everything they can to keep their business afloat.
they are at a critical point in their ever so blemished present condition.
there is simply too much genuine criticism from not only those on the outside but, also from those on the inside.
Could we get a pool list going of emails and addresses that anyone thinks would be good? Could we get some recommended email addresses and post office addresses listed somewhere here for us? Some target ones, like Governing Body individuals, Bethelites, newspapers (for email or postal) ,,emails of any known elders, pioneers, any JWs of any sort. It would make it easy for some of us to chime in. Thanks.

Is that so, that the magazines printed are about 40M/monthly. Is that globally? Or, was that just for Australia?
