The WTS should give the Nigerians a decent bus to travel to these conventions instead of a truckloads of valueless literature.

Ok Watchtower: will you be sending a DO to the funerals in Nigeria?
by Aussie Oz inobviously you 'cared' about whitney's death, a horrible tragedy, enough to rally the troops and send a district overseer no less, to give the funeral talk.. do you care enough about the 20 poor jw's that died in that tragic truck cum bus accident in nigeria?
who will you be sending to the funerals?
what demonstration of the great brotherly love will you do for them?.

70 JWs in horrific crash on way to a Convention
by Nambo inentire family, 20 others die in fatal accidenttragedy struck weekend in akwa ibom state as a man, his wife and all their children, as well as more than 20 others, all members of the jehovahs witness church, perished in a fatal road accident which occurred, friday, along the utu etim ekpo road in etim ekpo local government area of the state.. forty other members of the church sustained varying degrees of injuries following in the crash which occurred on their way to the jehovahs witness annual convention ground in ikot ekpene local government area of the state.. thisdays gathered that more than 70 members of the church had hired a lorry to convey them from ukanafun local government area to ikot ekpene for the annual district convention which began on friday and billed to end today (sunday) but the journey ended half way with many members of the church dying on the road in the accident.. eyewitnesses alleged that the driver of the lorry conveying the church members to the venue of the convention lost control of the vehicle when he got to utu etim ekpo, the junction opposite the local government secretariat, and hit the stone used to construct the roundabout, thus resulting in the lorry somersaulting, leaving many of its passengers and others wounded.. the corpses and those injured in the accident were said to have been taken to neighbouring hospitals and mortuaries.. one of the eyewitnesses, mr. friday john, said the people who died may have been more than what was seen because a whole family including parents and their children were all trapped in the accident.. we were all here discussing when suddenly the lorry appeared and was looking like the driver had lost control of it.
then the lorry drove straight and hit the stone and somersaulted into the gutter.. many people died, more than 18. in fact, we couldnt count the number because there were many corpses, including husband, wife and children and they were all taken to the mortuary in various hospitals near etim ekpo here, john explained.. in another narration, a secondary school teacher in eka uruk eshiet etim ekpo, mr. ndipmo nkanta, said the lorry boarded by the deceased and the injured passengers was not meant for passengers but goods only.. he blamed the accident on poverty , arguing that if there was a better alternative, such casualties wouldnt have been recorded, especially as they were going to worship god.. the public relations officer of the federal road safety corps, frsc, in the state, mr. godsgift uwen, blamed the incident on over-speeding and overloading by the driver of the lorry.. he said the lorry was not supposed to carry any passenger as it was a meant for goods only but the driver stubbornly used it as a passengers vehicle, which led to the sad incident.. he advised against rush and drunken driving, especially in the yuletide, noting that these are some of the major causes of accidents on the roads..

this indicates so much the burdened life style the WTS imposes on JWs, really everwhere, but certainly by those in poorer countries. The WTS emphasizes their members, for most, have to go to their repititious conventions for Jehovah's blessing. The rank and file are 'eke'ing out an existence already by their culture. Many may not have cars or have the money to take a long trip, so they take probably buses, often unsafe rickety cheap ones. In the news report, that bus was not to be for 'people' travel but for cargo or something. In these cultures, safety is not often a factor. The GB intimidate these members, giving ridiculous stories of someone traveling/walking far distances through dangerous rough roads, in crocodile infested waters, etc. for meetings/conventions.
However, the GB don't have a clue or certainly not any sympathy for these folks. The GB see increase in such countries but they don't really care about their reality and wouldn't bat an eye to tell these folks to not improve on their education, nor to improve on any possible living qualities.

Are disfellowshipings proportionately increasing or decreasing?
by yadda yadda 2 ini have been re-reading chapter 10 of ray franz's brilliant book "in search of christian freedom" (must reading for every borean-like jw and former jw), and i note that on page 315 it says that in 1995 there were 36,638 disfellowshipped, and 37,426 deepfried in 1996.. are there any statistics that show whether the number of expelled persons is increasing or decreasing proportionate to the number of publishers each year since then?

Welcome! I am glad for any in other countries to join in this site. I know the WTS claims much increase in such countries. Truly, the true facts about the Headquarters policies need to be known. How the WTS burdens its people and preaches to "eke" by economically really weighs on people in first world countries and after decades many long-term JWs become wary as they age and poor health sets in.
It would seem that such burdens would be even more so in countries where economics are a struggle to a greater degree for most already. So I value your evaluation on how are ones enduring such loads in many ways in Eastern Africa.
Not sure which countries are part of 'east' Africa but here are some and how some are 'decreasing' in annual baptisms there:
2010: 2011:
Tanzania - 863 773
Kenya 1903 1180
Uganda 428 343
Rwanda 1821 1769
Burundi 814 765
Decrease of 17% in baptisms in these countries altogether.
I hope this continues to decrease and I hope the citizens of these countries become aware how this "American" cult will not help these people in any long-run for certain.

The JWs teach "see what happens when you start to miss meetings?" Fear rules.
Meeting attendance goes up.

Why doesn't the faithful & discreet slave declare their identity outside of the JW community?
by Theocratic Sedition incertainly the identity of god's chosen messenger is bigger than any other current news, right?
i'm not saying j.r. needs to do a press conference, but at the least they could publish it in their public literature.
why keep it a big secret?

Most people question, aren't afraid to respectfully criticize for proof. The Governing Body couldn't handled that for one minute. They aren't used to it up close. Their rank & file don't dare question for fear of consequence. Actually the GB are wimps out of their circle.
