In the movie, "To Verdener" or "Worlds Apart." Produced in Denmark. An elder (actor) in movie had a beard. Of course, movie was not in English. Some who watched the objected that an elder would not have a beard, but some stated in Denmark they do. ?? Denmark speak Danish, German.

it is interesting that there is virtually no statement that says a witness cannot have a beard, yet universally they do not have beards.
i have scoured quotes from all the threads on jwn, all references to beard on the cd watchtower library, and copies of elders letters that i have.

Tech49 visits Bethel: Part 1-Patterson

enough time has passed that no one can put my experiences together with any kind of timeline..... so our family discussed the trip to the holy land (ny bethel), as none of us had ever been.
anyone who is anyone knows that you aren't really a good jw christian until you visit bethel!

Such a boring place, comfortable if you're comfortable with 'robotism' and 'parrotism.' Relaxed dinner conversation is almost non-existent.
Filling tupperware for left-overs was okay, at least in your room it's more comfortable and quiet to eat, unless you have to rush off for Monday eve. WT.; or meetings, field service.
I was there (in Brooklyn tho) five years. One year doesn't stand out too much different than the next. Maybe that's why the long-timers, hardly get a reflection of the years & decades passing.

stay away from positions of ministerial servant, pioneer, aux pioneer, elder, and the like.
once you become a full fledged jehovah wittness you are doomed to be unhappy.

Happiness is mainly going to meetings and going in service thus saith the GB. The WT/GB lied to us. Amazing how they could even make us lie to ourselves about "happiness." We were guilted to deny our own happiness. If we were unhappy, we were only to self-condemn ourselves. We were taught then it was our own fault if we were unhappy. Just should study WT more. Otherwise, we were to accept unhappiness because of this world and our battle within ourselves and accept being miserable as Paul was ("miserable man that I am"),
To now think for ourselves and step up to our own accountability to be personally "happy" brings freedom of mind and heart. I think coming to terms of our 'honest' personal happiness (within) is the first step and motivator of our push through the WT walls of deceit.

Nothing in over 2 months? All parties applied for "oral" arguments. But no follow up? Do we assume that "oral" has not been done yet or? Is this 'stretch' common? I think I read after written *and oral* have been presented, then the Court has 3 months (or 90 days) for decision?

Interesting,,'Avg. Pubs', and 'Aux Pio'. not noted with any increases. Suspect, don't ya think? From 2011 to 2012, Aux. Pio. showed a decrease of 11%.

wow,,90,000 to 17,000..I remember the Divine Purpose book,,a lot of oldtimers must still have that book. Well. that was a 80% decrease,, wouldn't it be thrilling to see that happen now? This site would go on overload. Even, 20% would be thrilling; could it happen in 2014? or soon after? I expect 20% are very close to leaving, if they have a 'last straw' soon.

elders in the northeast (i assume other area's as well) received a letter inviting them to a "special" meeting 2-3 weeks ago to discuss hospitality at int'l dc's to be held next summer.

Seems they will drop the 'public' Watchtower (nobody reads it anyway of non-JWs, probably not even most JWs) and just use the Awakes for RVs and door-step Bible studies.
Their new tactic/message is: Simplify, Simplify, Simplify!
