fortunately, your son has you. You have a window open for him, to get an open mind and heart. Hopefully, somehow you can present to your son simply that it is just his mom's religion but that you don't feel that way. Hopefully, you can present to him the alternative. So why does the organization even publish the number of partakers each year then? The organization in doing so, and is the one that makes it a big deal.
The GB are the ones insisting on 'unquestioning obedience.' Of course, they expect the same out of so-called other 'anointed.' If one 'anointed' demands unquestioning obedience of another 'anointed,' it just doesn't make sense. The whole things is senseless and insane!
Maybe they will stop printing the partaker number this year?!

i'm a fifth gen born-in baptized jw.
to say i've been struggling with doubts is an understatement.
I left 30 yrs ago,,never missed it for a second,,had 5 children then,,they are all free of it, grown, graduated college (so grateful I left the weirdness),,have good jobs and I have 8 happy grandchildren.

i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.
had a quick look at the workbook and flicked through the sample meeting video.. the increased use of video shows the trend for more centralised dissemination of "best practice" .
sure there isn't really a "school" any more and the format is a bit different but i think those that called it as the same old crap just in new package got it pretty much right.
