You'll enjoy it. My son got to play for a couple of years and he really liked it--and I did too. Getting to go to the practices, the games, etc..It was a lot of fun. It DID cost a little money--unis, gear, fees, etc...but it was well worth it.

Why Adam and Eve were unfairly judged by God
by BreakingAway inthe argument has been made on many occasions that death and suffering are a result of adam's sin.in fact, the bible is so clear on this "fact" that it is one of the few things on which nearly every christian denomination will agree.. "therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned romans 5:12. however, i would like to present the case that god had, in fact, not told adam this very thing, and consequently, adam was unaware of what really would take place upon eating the fruit.notice this verse:.
"but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.
" gen.2:17. i highlighted the word "you" because this is absolutely critical.why ?

Not so, if God gets to decide what is and is not fair. You cannot take God to court if he himself is the final arbitor on all matters.

One Reason Why I Worship the God of the Bible
by snowbird inwhile this may be construed as a rebuttal to nvr's thread re: why i post about atheism, that is not my intent.. it is my intent, however, to show how i developed a belief in and love for the god of the bible.. my paternal grandfather, who died before i was born, was a baptist preacher, so you could say i cut my teeth on the bible.
i loved having it read to me, and once i learned how, reading it for myself.
i'm convinced that spirituality runs deep in my blood.. i've always had such a strong sense of right and wrong that injustices make me literally sick.

Someone please help me out on this one. Are JW's allowed to help....
by jetery inanyone who is d'fed(like me- dont miss it) or disassociated, etc who may be in dire need.
i know that when u are disfellowshipped u are not allowed to associate with anyone who is a witness and they are suppose to shun u the rest of your life until u come to your "senses".
but anyway what i want to know is if im on the side of the road bleeding to death and one of jw recognize will they stop and help me or anyone for that matter.even when i was in the "truth" i always wondered about that since they are not supposed to have any contact with u. where do they draw the line when it comes to shunning people?

Based on what I know from my 35yr association with the org, the simple answer to your question is 'yes', but as was brought out by another poster some choose not to do so.

Pedophile crisis expanding among JWs
by laneh init is interesting that the pedophile scandal among jws is broadening.
for example, you will notice recent postings that show the crisis has popped into the limelight in finland and brazil.
it first hit the internet and papers in the u.s., then canada, europe and australia, but not is showing up in south america.

Expanding among JW's? How about "expanding among all of the world"? If you mean by that simply more cases are being reported, then I suppose you could make a case for that, when talking strictly about the JW's. There's certainly more attention now being brought to the problem, which is a good thing. Pedophilia is a societal problem throughout the world--I honestly don't think it's any more of a problem in the org, percentage wise, than it is in other religions--like the catholic church for instance. Catholic priests claim to represent God and the 'Truth' also, so in my mind they are just are reprehensible as any JW elder or ms guilty of it. The problem is too broad to only associate it with one group of people.

Why Are Barb Anderson's Comments Missing from Silentlamb's NBC Transcript?
by Seeker4 ina few weeks ago i was checking out a few details on line about the nov. 12, 2007 nbc broadcast concerning the wts settlement on the west coast pedophile cases, and the release of the court documents on cd by barbara anderson.
i think it was lisa meyers who interviewed barbara, and brian williams was hosting.
well, i figured silentlambs had a transcript of the show, and i went there, only to find that they indeed had the transcript, but all of barbara's portion of the interview was oddly missing, and there was no link to the video.

Just remember, Seeker, "Silentlambs" is Bill's website and he has the freedom to post, or not to post, anything that he wants. Whether that affects his credibility with people like you, well, that's another issue. That's one of the drawbacks/advantages of the internet--depending on your point of view. If Barb Anderson had a website, I would defend her right on the same thing as well. In fact, maybe that's the solution to this--Maybe she should establish one(assuming she doesn't have one already) and she can then have her own unfiltered conduit for releasing information involving her crusade against pedophilia.

Fat People and Global Warming
by sammielee24 inpretty soon we'll all be perfect drones as we try to desize, debrain and depersonalize each other.
fat people blamed for global warmingby patrick sawerlast updated: 8:52am bst 17/05/2008as if they didnt already have enough problems on their hands fat people are now being blamed for global warming.
british scientists say they use up more fuel to transport them around and the amount of food they eat requires more energy to produce than that consumed by those on smaller diets.

If I believed in the global warming hoax(and I don't), This would actually seem very plausible. Bigger people=bigger carbon footprint. Sounds reasonable to me...what about it, Greens?
