"but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.

" gen.2:17. i highlighted the word "you" because this is absolutely critical.why ?

First, I'm accepting the premise that you are not an atheist. If you are, then not much of what I think on this subject will make much sense to you. If you go by the ' day for a year' then they did indeed die within that 'day'--with a thousand years being a figurative day, but that's another subject altogether that could be debated ad nauseam by itself.

My point is this--whether you or I or any other human with only an imperfect mind to think with and reason with THINKS it's fair or not what God did in the garden of eden is irrelevant. Besides, you and I are not "all knowing", and we are greatly limited compared to the One who created us when it comes to thinking and reasoning ability, thus OUR perception of what is fair or NOT fair may not necessarily square with what the Supreme Being's is. When you are Master of the Universe, you get to make the rules. YOU may disagree with God all you want--but surely you are not suggesting that any of us humans know better than God?

my poor old boy's teeth just aren't what they used to be.

i've begun feeding him wet canned dog food so that he can eat a little easier.

problem is now, he busts off with some of the foulest farts on record.

Nope. Won't work. Their digestive system is a little different from ours. But you can probably reduce it somewhat by changing his diet.

about 25 yrs ago, walter gobitas served the circuit that i was in as a kid--he was kin to the gobitas' that were involved in the famous flag salute case that went before the supreme court.

anyone know if he is still in the circuit work or of his whereabouts?

I dont agree with the fact that God 'changed' the rules--but even if he did, he has the right to, as the Supreme Being--it's his universe and he can do what damn well he wants! he's not bound by what YOU think standards and laws he should abide by. The arrogance of some of you--Sheesh....

Well, I do think you will see a lot of changes in upcoming years in the org, and yes I agree we are living in exciting times. I really thing the Ted Jaracz/Max Larson hardline wing of the org is aging rapidly and giving way to the much more liberal younger voting bloc that is now on the GB. That can only be good, in my humble opinion.

It really doesn't matter if it 'sounds right'--. Neither you or I were there--we don't know for a certainty what happened. Why pass judgment and not know all the facts? You certainly have the right to draw any conclusion that you want as a free moral agent, but that doesn't mean you're right...

Yea, that's it...Let's attack the people that are in business to produce more energy that we need to continue to expand our economy. Also, let's attack all the individual Americans, especially senior citizens, and retirement systems that OWN the stock in Exxon, Chevron, BP, etc...that depend on the dividends on the stock that they own to pay their monthly bills and for their medicines..etc...Keep it up, democrat party, keep it up....

jehovah's witnesses are businessmen who exploited religion to create an empire or a kingdom of their own design true or false.. complete with servitude slaves and the laws to keep them in line.. after just listening to some of da judge rutherford speeches he certainly was a narcissistic opportunist that wanted it all.

and its not too easy to understand why a lot of people fell for his tritely bullshit, what a charismatic salesman.. you can really see how he was intensionally was trying to build a kingdom around himself with himself sitting of course at the steering wheel.. in modern terms we would call a person like this a power junkie out of control .

its apparent i suppose he did finally get the power and wealth that he desired, unfortunately at the cost of the love and respect of his family.. and its unfortunate too that this disingenuous character's legacy still remains and maintains itself in the wts.
