dear all,.

i've just read raymond franz interesting, revealing and important book.

i wonder if anyone of you have met him or talked to him in person?

Newborn,

Ray Franz was a close friend of my brother-in-law and we met him and had dinner with

him and Cynthia in 1975 at Bethel. My b-i-l's wife left him shortly after our visit and Ray

introduced him to his wife-to-be a year or so later and married them in 1977. He has always

held a special place in our heart. As has been said, he is a humble, caring, unassuming

man. Cynthia is a bubbly, hospital, caring woman. We read CofC as soon as it was

published in 1983 and could not put it down. My husband and I fought over who was

going to get it to read. We finally compromised and read it to each other.

hee hee We had not been disfellowshipped yet. We have visited him and had

correspondence and email from him with tesimonies from many places. He will talk to

and email anyone. He is just so kind and down-to-earth.

I know they both have been ill. Cynthia has had health problems for many years

and Ray has had heart problems from what I have heard. I know he is older than

my husband and Joe is 81.

i just thought i'd briefly introduce myself.

my name is april, i am a navy wife and mother of six children, will be 30 next month, and have been disfellowshipped for almost 12 years.

i was also reproved two years prior to that.

Welcome. Your story is so familiar. So many have left the organization and

have not been able to move on with their lives. I hope you will read a lot of

the posts that deal with the truths that people have found since leaving the

Wt. There are so many good people that are willing to help.

The elders came last night and i stood my NEW ground!!! be proud!

so yes, the brothers came for "encouragement" and of course, my husband is out of town on business... so it was me and the kids.. so i did let them in, i like these brothers...these are some things we discussed.... 1. i went over how that stupid "obey" email got all this started, got me to divulge to my girlfriend how i was feeling about the whole religion.

about how at the end of the call she said that she can't associate with me anymore, and then right after that call/ 30seconds later while i'm crying a pioneer called and asked "do you consider yourself one of jeh witnesses anymore??

" and i thought that was crazy for someone to try to trap me when i was sitting crying on the phone, upset with the last call... i told them that for all purposes i am already dfed since noone will talk to me anymore, and only one friend called to see what happened, everyone else just listened to the gossip of whatever spread, and wrote me off even though i'm technically in good standing.

I like your attitude. I am so proud of you to stand up to elders!!!

Women are treated as second class citizens in the WT org. At our

JC they talked only to my husband, it was if I was not there. When I

spoke up they answered me as if what I had to say was not important.

They also asked us "Where will you go?' We told them to Jesus as that

is what the scripture at John 14:6 tells us and the question is not "Where"

but "Who".God is real, but he is not the Jehovah of the Watchtower.

I will be praying that the "peace of God" will be with you in the coming

days when this all comes to a head. It is wonderful that you have your

husband with you. It is a lot easier than having them still in. So many

of my friends have JW husband who treat them like crap because they

are not JWs. You go girl. You can be part of the "Jezebelian spirit club"

(That is what some of the elders told my d-i-l that I had) That means

thinking for yourself, think. hee hee

Good vs Evil.....does the existence of God prove the existence of Satan?

does not believing in god bring evil down to a simple explanation of the conflict that is within every human being.

seems to me the "force" is at work in the world, and the "force" is both good and evil.

sometimes it is easier for me to believe in the existence of satan than the existence of god.

Another question would be...."is evil always bad?"....or...."is good always good?" To not think in absolutes puts an entirely different spin on reality, for me anyway.

An ancient Chinese Story

In ancient China, there was a very poor, old man. He had one son and the only possession he had of any value was a horse.

One day the horse ran away and the neighbors came to comfort him. How sad that your only horse is gone.

Maybe its bad and maybe its good, he said.

After several days, his horse returned with a great number of mares.

His neighbors came to rejoice with him. They said "How good it is. Now you have a whole herd of horses.

Maybe its good and maybe its bad, he said.

While his son was breaking one of the wild horses, he fell of and broke his leg.

His neighbors said: "What a terrible thing this is. Now your son cannot break all the horses.

Maybe its bad and maybe its good, he said.

Then a warlord came through the land, recruiting able-bodied men to be inducted into his army and the son could not be taken because of his broken leg.

You never know how events in your life will turn out, but God does and He makes everything, even those things that seem bad, work for our good. Romans 8:28

I think that if we can accept things that happen without judging if they are "good or evil" and learn from them, we will be better off as it frees our minds to accept our lives as they are and not labelling events. We cannot change the past.

I believe that God loves all us human beings

including the GB. Hard to believe huh?

He is a really loving and forgiving God. hee hee

I believe He has a place or everyone of us. Not just sure where.
