Yes thats the narrowmindedness of thier way of thinking

do jw's believe the animal population was largly vegetarian prior to the flood, or that only humans were vegetarians prior to the flood?
i saw a pdf of a recent awake magazine that seemed to make a point of mentioning dinosaurs eating grass.
Yes but surely 'Animals' and 'Dinosaurs' are two different categories of creatures. There is undeniable evidence that there were species of carnivorous Dinosaur that existed that even the WT cant surely cant deny. So the WT must be talking about animals in general.
i know this might sound silly, but one of the most annoying things i find about my mom being a jw is how often she prays.
normally, i would never criticize someone for praying to god, but she prays in such a way that makes me angry for some reason.
let me explain:.
Yes 'Double Edge' God will become like Santa Claus or a Genie even if you pray only for material things (when you already have enough). In that sense you are praying for selfish reasons and you don't deserved to be answered. But from personal experience praying for genuine reasons such as personal & spiritual weaknesses an overcoming everyday JW difficulties in life well it just didn't work. It did not make me feel stronger, happier or more benefited in any way. Which goes against what the bible says:
"Keep knocking and the door will be opened", " Keep asking and it will be given you", (Matt 7:7)
"the power beyond what is normal may be gods and not that out of ourselves", (2Cor4:7)
"the helper (ther holy spirit)" John 14:16 etc.
These scriptures pretty much reassure that everyone who persists in asking for genuine reasons will recieve. So what is it then? Is it the scriptures that are false? Is it a translation error? Is it the JW's putting too much emphasis on praying? Or maybe i had a lack of faith? But how do you know when you have a lack of faith? How do you measure faith?.........Anyone?????...........................
good afternoon everyone and welcome to my new series of reports i like to call the watchtower after hours, where we examine many various topics relating to jehovah witnesses, mostly found on their own website: http://www.watchtower.org/.
i'd like to point out that these articles are all current or previous publications of the watchtower society, and have not been written or changed by me.
the following commentary is usually quite sarcastic and if any current jehovah witness is reading this they are more than welcome to post their opinion, and i apologize in advance for offending anyone.
You know what aswell, its so hypocritical of them because so many of the Elders & Mini Servants, have good jobs i.e Teachers, Architects, Surveyors etc where they DID go to Uni & college to get the required education they needed. So what the hell are they talking about!?!?!?!?!?

Praying is bullsh*t its just Psychotherapy & Dellusion. If you truly believe there is someone there listening to your prayers every time you utter them and you say them often enough and you've got a whole Organisation trying to ram this activity down your neck you will make it real in your own mind.
I mean the mind is a powerful thing innit?

You know what 'Anitar' your SPOT ON!!!! I remember when i was 18 and first started studying the bible but wanted to go to University, the Brother (A ministerial Servant) tried to put me off. He actually tried to frighten me by saying:
"Now Steven if you go to University and Armaggeddon comes in one of them 4 years your there, What will happen to you?"
followed by:
"YOU WILL BE PUT TO DEATH WOULDN'T YOU"
Yes its pretty sad when these people have to resort to using fear as thier ultimate control tool to get you to do what they want. After that time everytime i heard an article about Higher Education in a Watchtower magazine or another WTBTS publication they always avised against it, criticized it or sometimes even condemed it. Well here i am years later with a good job that pays decent money and i'm contented all because i DID go to University and didn't listen to them. They're so full of sh*t its unbelievable. Your spot on with your observations & comments you've made with the Society's material there, i'm glad someones brought up this subject. Thankyou for that!

666 = 600 + 60 + 6.. 144,000/600 = 240.
240/60 = 4.
4/6 = .666. i'm just saying...is 144,000 really such a holy number?
Interesting!
i've often wondered about god's name 'jehovah' or 'yahweh', why is it that these are the only two acceptable translations of the tetragrammaton "yhwh" translated from the four hebrew consonants?
why is it that the society only implants the vowels that make the words 'jehovah' i.e(e,o and a) or 'yahweh' (a and e)?
surely the tetragrammaton can be pronounced several different ways with a mixture of different vowels.
Hello Everyone
I've often wondered about God's name 'Jehovah' or 'Yahweh', why is it that these are the only two acceptable translations of the tetragrammaton "YHWH" translated from the four Hebrew Consonants? Why is it that the society only implants the vowels that make the words 'Jehovah' i.e(e,o and a) or 'Yahweh' (a and e)? Surely the tetragrammaton can be pronounced several different ways with a mixture of different vowels. Also since the Jews claimed the original holy name was to sacred to be mentioned among the people the exact pronnunciation of it became lost. So how can we be sure that Jehovah or Yahweh are correct renderings of the original name?

i was df'd about 2 months ago and decided to take this time to explore the teachings i have spent my life spewing to others.
well, it took very little time to discover it was a bunch of crap.
i have learned about the lies and inconsistant teachings and what not.
Maybe its not the Bible or not even a religion that we should follow, i mean what's wrong with just being good citizens, practising good things & being good to our fellowmen. Why do we need a written document telling us what we should & shouldn't do? Why do we need an organised religion also saying the same thing? The Bible and its many different translations can be interpreted in so many different ways, who is right and who is wrong? I think we should just leave them to argue amongst themselves whilst we do our best to be good citizens & contribute to a good civilised society.
q: how many born-again christians does it take to change a light bulb?.
they have already seen the light.. q: how many agnostics does it take to change a light bulb?.
a: we can't know.
I like that one 'Gordon D' yes 'the light gets brighter & brighter' they use that one to cover all thier cock ups in Policy, Doctrine & false Armageddon predictions over the decades.
