Door to Door Dangers
by Outaservice ini understand people's growing reluctance to answer their doors anymore with the crime rate soaring etc.
jw's must be a nuisance to many because of this.. however, as a jw did you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation because of calling on someone who was dangerous?
do you feel, or did you feel you would have had divine protection in such cases?

I agree with 'Tyrone' on this one, the INTERNET is their biggest worry. They emphasise the easy access of Pornography and hence the stumbling of teenagers & young men, but lets face it that's not the real reason for their concern. The real reason being people can find out the TRUTH about the Watchtower, its dodgy history and people like us can meet up online & share their experiences of the Org and find out what this seedy religion is all about.

No good deed goes unpunished
by twinkletoes inthe last congregation we were at, decided to invite a neighbouring congregation to their territory to help them with the field service.. the elders asked my husband, if we would host the bbq for the brothers and sisters after the ministry, as we have a large garden.
we were told not to worry about the amounts of food, as everyone from the other congregation would bring something.
not even a bag of crisps arrived.

Well i've experienced a similar sort of thing in the form of helping a sister out by taking her & her 3 children to the meetings & back home every Sunday & Thursday. This went on for about a year. This sister did nothing but moan & annoy the f**k out of me all the way to the KH & back EVERY visit. She would make negative comments about life in general, always picking fault with the other Brothers & Sisters, complaining about her lot in life and how hard done by she is, whinging that Armaggeddon hasn't come yet, digging at the Elders for how they run the place, problems with money, her neighbours etc etc. Honestly she just went on and on and on and by the time you got to the KH you felt so depressed you just felt like finding the nearest convenient rafter on the ceiling and throwing a rope over it and hanging yourself. She knew she was annoying me but she just carried on and hey i never asked her for money for the trips and had no obligation to take her if i didn't want to.
But you see what happens when your just trying to help someone. I'm not saying ALL people will have a distinct lack of gratitude like this particular individual but you would expect more from a member of 'God's orgainsation' and a supposed practicing Christian.

Nikitaeve, if your a strong advocate of the JW interpretation of the Bible then maybe this website is not right for you, as you can see your voicing of your religious opinions like this will only lead to more opposition for yourself.

Is David Beckham worth $250 million?
by unbeliever ini read that david beckham is leaving real madrid and coming to the us to play for the la galaxy.
soccer is not that popular in the us and that is a obscene amount of money to pay a player and i am surprised that david beckham would want to finish out his career playing in the us.
i guess for $250 million anyone would.

What really made you exit the Jw's
by KAYTEE ini know its a question that has been asked a thousand times, but what really made you exit the jws .. for instance, my wife and i, having found out about the u.n., 607bce, failed prophecies etc.
gave all this information to my wifes brother, along with many so called friends.
we came out but the brother and friends stayed in.. the only reasoning i can put on it, is that we made an effort to find out for ourselves what was the real truth, the others were told and given written evidence - but still didnt make a decision.

Well it wasn't the business about the UN & failed prohecies, i only found out about that when i left. For me it was all the unnecessary & burdensome rules, policies & the Organisations demand on your time & resources. They seem to have a rule for everything; rules on dress & grooming, associations, entertainment, recreation, voting, sex & morals, institutions, employment, etc etc. Most of these of which there is little or no biblical basis at all and are just their twisted interpretations of the scriptures. Folllowing the Orgs demands on matters such as these only led me to being in a very despondent, isolated & disillusioned state and hence my eventual exit.
bye bye Org
