Why use the word apostate?
by greendawn inwhy should we define ourselves by what the fds defines us?
our enemies who seek emotional control over us even after we left their destructive cult have invested a lot of effort to demonize us with the word apostate and when we use the term ourselves we do their work for them.
most so called apostates simply thought about things deeply and came up with many questions that the jws instead of answering in a logical manner labelled these inquiring minds as demon inspired apostates doubting the god appointed fds and expelled them from their org.

My wife's take on the Sept OKM Question Box part
by erandir inwell, i asked my wife about the meeting she went to on thursday and how the question box part went.
the good news, for me, is that she agrees with me that the fds is obviously trying to clamp down on independent thinking and is being very contradictory.
she said she had in mind during the meeting the scripture about "where 2 or more are gathered in my name, there i am also" and also the scripture about the boreans.

there is hope for the congregation yet. There are a few who speak their minds and don't swallow everything from the publications and the platform without critically analyzing it.
Yes but for how long? The WT will probably one day see to this.

Help: biblical person raised by non-believers, became man of God?
by Awakened07 inok - this is something that is waaaay back there in my post-jw mind: i seem to remember that enoch lived among non-believers, and was alone in believing.
but when i do a search, there's nothing of that sort in the bible.
then of course there's job, and for that matter moses, who were both men of god in spite of growing up (and/or at least living) among non-believers.. but i know i'm not thinking of those two.

for God took him.
Yes what a reward for being a man of faith, true to his God. God goes and kills him.
I don't get it!?!?!

Wondering why Witnesses don't ask if meat is bled anymore!!!!
by Witness 007 inyears ago we were encouraged to ask your butcher if meat was bled....today no one cares!
if it's such a serious sin {like fornication} why doesn't anyone ask has this duck been properly bled?
only, one anionted sister i know washes mince under the tap to get the blood out!

This 'blood content in meat' issue has always been something that has confused me.
All meat has blood in it no matter how much you drain it, some might have verry little, some a bit more, some more still, so where do you draw the line between what is acceptable and what isn't?
Also what is the rule with black pudding? Since black pudding's main ingredient is pig's blood so why wasn't there any specific rule or instructions not to eat this type of food?
I'm confused!!!

'Apostate'
by lfcviking indefinition from the american heritage dictionary:.
'one who has abandoned ones religious faith, a political party, ones principles or a cause'.
thousands of people leave the watchtower org every year, some become atheist, some agnostic, some choose to follow another religion and some develop their own beliefs, yet according to this dictionary definition all are apostate.

Definition from the American Heritage Dictionary:
'One who has abandoned ones religious faith, a political party, ones principles or a cause'
Thousands of people leave the Watchtower Org every year, some become atheist, some agnostic, some choose to follow another religion and some develop their own beliefs, yet according to this dictionary definition ALL are apostate. So then CT Russell was an apostate since he was formerly an Adventist. Paul was an apostate because he was formerly a Pharisee. Thousands of active JW's are apostates because they followed a different religion prior to their JW conversion.
So why is it that the WT society is selective where it applies this 'Apostate' description? Why is it that it pins this label on people who openly discuss and give informed & well reasoned criticisms against the WT Org? Take this website for example, most of us here are ex JW's and as soon as we post a criticising comment about the WT, according to them that instantly make us an apostate.
So it seems the WT has given its own slant on this 'Apostate' term, they seem to have given this word a certain stigma to which any active JW believer when hearing it automatically assumes it is something really bad and must be avoided when in reality it is just a word used to describe a former believer.
Any opinions on this anyone?

WHAT do YOU know about LUCIFER... and His teachings?
by LtCmd.Lore ini am interested to know what you know about lucifer/satan and what you really think of his teachings.. god demands that we believe everything that he tells us, and that we do everything that he says without questioning.
(deuteronomy 6:16-19).
lucifer is the embodiment of reason, of intelligence, of critical thought.

Many say that Jesus is the Savior of mankind, that he gave his life for humans. The truth is that he most certainly did NOT give his life at all. He's still alive in heaven
I agree with this statement of yours, but the rest of what your saying is absolute b*llocks.

Yeah, we had some bad ones but some good ones aswell.
I really felt sorry for this Brother who had a really bad stutter and he would stutter all the way through his talks, but i had to admire him for having the courage to do them with such an impediment as he had.

The end already has come, it came in 1998, it stared Bruce Willis and it was about a giant meteor hitting the Earth wiping out all civilisation for ever.
Didn't you see it?
