i am currently studying some of the issues of the feminist movement.
one of my first observations is that men are really not welcome in the discussion.
all the reference books and topics i have looked at so far are written by women.
of course! men can and SHOULD be critical of the feminist movement. im female, but im not so keen on feminism. im all for equality, but we must acknowledge that we are different creatures. in trying to be like men we have somehow lost who we are. that is in part feminism's doing. so be critical I say!

There's a lot of fair arguments feminists make such as equality as you've mentioned, but as you say they are trying to make two things that are very much different to be equal.
i heard it on the radio last night.
i was going to post it on the other 'should marijuana/cannabis be legalised' thread - but since this case involved alcohol as well, you can't be sure which 'drug' if either was a contributor to this sicko's actions.. i'm not going to post the full story here as some may find the details distressing.
it basically involved a guy who had been smoking weed and drinking who denied a dying woman any dignity in her final hours.
Well that story is really awful. I'm glad he's been deferred to the Crown court to get a stiffer sentence.
Why is it that some people take advantage of others when they're in a vunerable position like this woman was when she collapsed on the floor? And what for? Just for a 'laugh'?
What it wrong with some people's mentality?
Are they born like that or do they learn to be idiots as they grop up?

Perry, thats a great analysis. I agree with you, they seem to feel that with them being 'hated' it makes them the true religion because Jesus said :
I have given them thy word ; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
What they fail to acknowledge is that there are other groups, minorities that are 'hated' far more than they are, take the Jews for example, Hitler hated them that much he wiped out 6 million of them. Jehovahs witnesses IMHO are not really hated they're just more of a pest and an irritation to most people with their continous Sunday morning door bashing activities.

although the watchtower doesn't teach hellfire, the fear tactics are similar to fire and brimstone preachers.. repenting and accepting christ is not enough.
if you do not do the things the watchtower says you must, then god will destroy you eternally.
so, i googled fire and brimstone preachers to see if there were more similarties between the two than just my passing thought.. the fear preachers inspire is very powerful, but to put their fear in perspective, the sermon below was given in the early 1700s, all those people have been dead over 200 years.

Interesting point, i suppose theres no way of knowing the truth to this at the moment as medical research of this substance is still in its early stages.
