Is David Beckham worth $250 million?
by unbeliever ini read that david beckham is leaving real madrid and coming to the us to play for the la galaxy.
soccer is not that popular in the us and that is a obscene amount of money to pay a player and i am surprised that david beckham would want to finish out his career playing in the us.
i guess for $250 million anyone would.

You've touched a subject very close to my heart here, i'm a keen Football (Soccer in the US) fan and i support Liverpool FC (Champions of Europe 2005, 1984, 1981,1978,1977) and hence is the lfc in lfcviking (my username). Well i used to watch David Beckham when he played at Manchester United and i always thought he was totally over-rated. For anybody who knows a thing or two about the game of soccer you will know that David Beckham is just not a world class footballer that a lot of people say he is. His game consists of merely crossing the ball & taking free kicks. He cannot dribble, has no pace, not a commited tackler and even though he was captain of England his leadership skills were far from convincing. When you compare him to players like Ronaldinio, Steven Gerrard, Roy Keane he isn't even fit enough to tie their shoe laces. He married a member of a very succesful Girl Band and since then his fame really began to take off and thats why now he's so well known throuought most of the developed world today, not because of his football skills, but because the British Public & Media have nothing else better to do exept put people like this on a pedestal.
Maybe one day he'll be knocked off?? Or maybe you think i'm just jealous of him? Well the answer to that is yes only because he's so rich, nothing to do with how he kicks the round thing.

Well thankyou all for your answers, it appears we have quite a mixture of philosophies here. I'd say though that the inclination is more leaning towards the agnostic/atheistic choice. This is interesting because assuming all of us here were once active believing JW's, now that we have left a lot of us have rejected God altogether.

Woohhh! Calm down fella! Easy now. There are many other people like you in a similar position, like myself for example; my Mother is in the 'truth' and my Brother is getting interested in it aswell these days so I can empathise with you. I know what you mean when you say you remain quiet just to try and keep the peace, its frustrating isn't it? You just want to let it all out and let them know how you feel but you have to control yourself just to avoid compromising already delicate relationships.
It breeds severe paranoia and hurtful, hateful things
This is an interesting thought of yours. Do you believe this is because with their sheltered/shielded life inside the Org and very little real contact with the outside they start to develop a paranoia which leads to a feeling of dislike even hatred of the 'world'?
I hate their secrets, I hate their control. I hate they threaten to drive away my own family, I hate they cause friendships to be broken.
Careful with that four letter word mate you'll be sinking to their same low level.

Regarding Genesis 3:15, Tell me what you think
by unbaptized ingenesis 3:15 states " i shall put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed.
" " he will bruise you in the head and you will bruise him in the heel.".
i did some meditating on this scripture and came to the realization that this prophecy could have somehow been misinterpreted.

To me the most misleading thing about the JW interpretation of this scripture is the identity of the 'Woman'. In V15 the 'Woman' according to the JW's is 'Gods Organisation' and her seed is the 'annointed remnant on earth'. This seems remarkable because in the previous sentence in V13 the 'Woman' was Adams mate 'Eve', so in the space of a few words the meaning of the 'Woman' has completely changed.Why would the identity of the 'Woman' switch from meaning a single real female person to a whole organisation of people in the same utterance? To me this sounds completely out of context and hence have always struggled with accepting this doctrine as plausible ever since i heard it.

How Dysfunctional A Witness Were You?
by minimus inreading posters' comments help me to see that since leaving "the organization", many have gotten emotionally better.
of course, you don't have to be a witness to have dysfunction but feeling the pressure of always being told that we are inferior, that we're not doing enough, can get to the best of us!
