one dopey jw (wandering-teacher) who complained that the article was "biased" against the jws was supported in a comment by another assumed jw (galik) who whined that the article was "peppered with quotes from known opposers of jehovah's witnesses in order to use this article as a propaganda vehicle".. wandering-teacher replied: "thanks for the support, galik.
the difficulty of having a neutral point of view in the ... article strengthens my faith that i have made the correct religious choice for me.".
The response? "That just strengthens my faith! Why would anyone bother to attack us if we weren't doing something the world hates." Then they used the scripture "Broad is the gate leading to destruction, narrow is the road leading to life" or whatever it is. Apparently all the internet sites is the broad road and the positive sites (which they admitted were only the official sites) was the narrow road.
With that logic Osama Bin Laden was a saint!
I had a couple that used to say that. I would just say "Okay" and maintain a pleasant smile. They really had no follow up. I guess people are supposed to reply with why they weren't there but I just took it as a statement which I acknowledged.
Eventually I think I got full of demons because they didn't talk to me anymore.

Okay, that actually made me laugh out loud.
i don't hesitate to bring up with the girl i study with, my criticisms of the religion, and one of those is the association.
i keep reading on here that jw's don't make friends outside the cult, and this is what i used as an excuse for stepping further away from being baptized.
she tells me it's not true, and they can have what ever friends they want.
Once you are a member the scripture "Bad associations spoil useful habits" is droned over and over again.
I'm surprised that this sister outright lied like that. Usually most witnesses stretch the truth or try to change the topic, but that one is a boldfaced lie.
I'll let someone with access to litterature flood you with the hundreds of accounts in their own litterature where they warn against having worldly friends. You can be labeled as "spiritually weak" if it known that you associate with worldly people outside of work hours.

most folks have never seen a watchtower letter breaking this news.
Will be interesting to see if this sets a legal precedent. If an autonomous entity can be disolved by the WTS without the vote of the congregation, that blurs the legal line and may be used as a means to create legal liability.

I have the feeling that you didn't really read my whole post because it sounds like we agree on several issues. :)
However I'm glad to read that you are in college though. I am a major proponent of people reaching for their dream job. Too many people settle for what's the easy or comfortable.

some often comment as to why i "speak" as i do when i post certain things.
i received from my lord why that is: according to him, in order for one to understand what certain words/passages meant... and/or what was meant by them... what their speaker/author intended... one has to know something of the language... and the thinking behind the words.
As a fan of languages and thought processes I was pretty excited to open this thread. Now I see it's just someone claiming divine inspiration.

The hobo on the way to work claims the same and he screams racial slurs at his genitals. Since there can't be conflicting messages, I'm going with the hobo for now because he makes me laugh.
