i have been doing a lot of collecting lately i have been through reexaminer's website and collecting the pdf files that atlantis (thanks to both of you for making this available) has been posting.
plus i had quite a few books in pdf form from a while ago.. on freeminds there is a list (http://www.freeminds.org/sales/wtpubs.htm) of watchtoweer publications but it stops with the following.
1990 all scripture is inspired of god and beneficial 352 pages, revised [si] 1990 mankind's search for god 384 pages [sh] 1991 the greatest man who ever lived 452 pages.
I also like collecting the WTS literature, Lady Lee. I'd like to have older publications but some of them are out of print and the ones sold on eBay are a bit expensive. Also, my mother doesn't like it because she says I'm just collecting garbage and since I'm not a JW anymore and won't read all the books, she said they'll just take up space in the basement.
But oh well. Some day I'll get more literature and have my own library lol

lately i've noticed more and more jw groups on myspace seem to be disappearing and losing members.
at first i egotistically thought might have something to do with my efforts (i sometimes suffer from delusions of grandeur).
however, a couple posts came to my attention on two of the private jw groups.... .
Well, it is obvious that the main reason they're discouraging the Witnesses from using MySpace or any other "wordly" websites is so they don't read about the mistakes, litigations, etc of the Watchtower Society, disguising it as "it's a way to protect our kids". Because let's face it. If parents read that the GB is discouraging kids from surfing worldly websites, the parents will automatically know it also applies to them even if not specified.
Granted, it has a ring of truth - finally - that it's not safe for kids to have accounts in websites that predators use to entice children/kids. But it's impossible to completely deprive kids of the internet bcz it's now more easily accessible than ever before.

my mother called me last night and shared with me something my dad just discovered in doing some research on the internet.
it is out of the book published by the wathchtower in 1966, entitled, "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god".. my parents have the book, and listen to what was written about adam and bestiality.... page 45, para.
before god created anything new, a woman, god left the man free to determine whether there was a suitable companion for him among all the lower animals.
I saw this book on eBay and wanted to buy it. It's kind of weird that they felt the "need" to explain or make clear that Adam was not inclined to bestiality since I doubt lots of people thought that. But maybe they did so because of the rabbinic tradition that Adam coupled with all the female animals.
The talmud and the rabbinic traditions are f***ed up, maybe even more so than some of the WTS stuff. And I wonder how the Jews still think that they are God's chosen people when they accept the Talmud and traditions of men in equal importance with the OT.

i have had sinus problems my entire life, recently a friend told me about this sinu-cleanse thing, its a sinus cleansing treatment that you can get at cvs pharmacy, its pretty cool, its a little pot that you mix warm water with saline solution and put in one nostral and it drains out the other, the first time i used it i had a bad sinus head ache and thought well i will give this thing a try, so i mixed it up and did the treatment, blood clots and pink then red water started coming out of my nose, and after i noticed my headache was gone, i could breath great, and felt a lot less pressure in my head.
this thing is pretty awesome!
just thought i share with all of you.. sorry if its a bit gross.
Well, Glad it worked for you!
Mayb I should try it. My sinuses aren't that bad but they aren't that great either. And I have a friend who has sinus problems too. I think I'll try it.
And my sinus problem might get worse! :-(
OVER 4 years ago, I had a root canal done. After I had it done, I used to get pain in my tooth and gum. I didn't know what it was. The tooth was supposed to be dead. So, I went to 3 different dentists over the course of 3 years and they never found anything - but that's bcz they only took x-rays of the tooth.
About two weeks ago, I went to NYU ER bcz my tooth was pulsating and I explained to them how it's been hurting for yrs, etc. So they took an x-ray of the tooth and the nerves above the tooth. So yeah, I had an infection that had been there for over 4 years. They told me that either the first root canal was done wrong or when it was done, the dentist didn't clear all the infected area of the tooth.
So now I have to have it re-done and the whole procedure will cost over $1000 - and I paid $90 for ER fee bcz NYU didn't accept my insurance. AND if after re-doing the root canal, the infection does'nt go away or if they find that the infection has moved to my sinus, they will have to do surgery on my gum. It freaking scares the hell out of me! And I don't have any money to pay for it. So they told me to go to the clinic where I had it done and talk to them bcz they have the responsibility to re-do it for free and cover any charges but that if they don't, then I'll have to bring in my lawyer. My mother talked to her lawyer and the lawyer said that my mom and I should go back to the clinic where I had it done and explain to them and if they refuse to re-do it or cover the charges if I choose to do it at another clinic/hospital, then my lawyer said she'll call them and we might have to sue them. Either way I'm screwed. I'm SCARED of dentists. 4 years I went without having any cavities and took good care of my teeth bcz I didn't want any needles in my mouth and they tell me this crap now that I need to have it redone. ugh!
If it comes to worse, I will sue the bastards for all the pain the infection caused me and the pain the second root canal will cause. plus, the surgery that I may need to have done if the infection moved to my sinus or my cheek bone. I fucking hate those bastards!

i've just found out something that's going to be a massive thing in my congregation when it gets out.
it all starts with a former jw, who faded away probably about a decade ago, and then moved away, came out as a homosexual a few years ago.
he was never baptised, and he left so long ago, he never got chased up or disfellowshipped.
DAMN!!! My cover's out! lol j/k
Well, kind of. I actually was like that. I am gay and led a double life. Until I decided to leave and left, just like that. I only e-mailed two elders and told them I wouldn't be attending the meetings anymore. Never told them the real reason. And I was baptized but they never hounded me. Prob. bcz I was the only one in my family who was a JW. I don't think they know the real reason I left until this day and I left about a year ago and I leave close to the KH but I rarely see them.
Zico - is he cute? bcz if he is, send him my way! ;-) hehehe
i have been trying to post this topic and keep getting the error page.
i have no idea if this will submit this time or not...crossing fingers and toes, i'll keep trying.. formatting problems..sorry.. .
Well, accoring to the WTS there is only ONE angel. They argue that in the Bible, the word archangel is mentioned only in the singular and that it means "chief angel" or "principal angel". They also argue that every timet he word "archangel" is mentioned in the Bible, it's always either in connection with Jesus or in connection with other angels, the archangel always mentioned as in command of the other angels which they also use as a parallel because the Bible states that Jesus is in command of the other angels. No other created being in the Bible is said to be above the angels or in command of them except Jesus and Michael. 1 Thess. 4:16. It is also said that since Jude 9 mentions that Michael the archangel rebuked Satan, it has to be Jesus because only Jesus has authority over demons, no matter how powerful they are, including Satan. This is the explanation of the WTS: Scriptural evidence indicates that the name Michael applied to God’s Son before he left heaven to become Jesus Christ and also after his return. Michael is the only one said to be “the archangel,” meaning “chief angel,” or “principal angel.” The term occurs in the Bible only in the singular. This seems to imply that there is but one whom God has designated chief, or head, of the angelic host. At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ is described as being that of an archangel, suggesting that he is, in fact, himself the archangel. This text depicts him as descending from heaven with “a commanding call.” It is only logical, therefore, that the voice expressing this commanding call be described by a word that would not diminish or detract from the great authority that Christ Jesus now has as King of kings and Lord of lords. (Mt 28:18; Re 17:14) If the designation “archangel” applied, not to Jesus Christ, but to other angels, then the reference to “an archangel’s voice” would not be appropriate. In that case it would be describing a voice of lesser authority than that of the Son of God. justahuman - but super nonetheless
i've always wondered how jws get around the citizenship process when moving to another country.. example: here in the us, to my understanding, all naturalized citizens have to take the oath of allegiance.
also i read that there are similar things that other countries require.. the us oath.
"i hereby declare, on oath, that i absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which i have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that i will support and defend the constitution and laws of the united states of america against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that i will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that i will bear arms on behalf of the united states when required by the law; that i will perform noncombatant service in the armed forces of the united states when required by the law; that i will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that i take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me god.".
Acadian: Oh, I didn't know, that the only citizens to God's govenment were the 144,000, who are they going to rule over then? What about the Lord's prayer, "your kingdom come, on earth as in heaven"
Well, according to the WTS yes. So that was the point I was trying to make. According to the WTS, only 144,000 are going to heaven and those who are not but are followers of Christ, will inherit the earth and live forever upon it.
And not only ambassadors' children. Also those who are in exile and monarchs. The King of Spain was born in Italy in exile during the Spanish Civil war but he's not a citizen of Italy. And his wife the Queen Consort of Spain was not born in Greece because her parents, the monarchs of Greece at the time, were in exile in another country.

NO! Witnesses don't recite the oath. As long as a letter is written by the congregation, JW's are excused from signing the part of the application that compromises their neutrality/no part of this world stance and they are not required to recite the oath in from of the judge that conducts the citizenship ceremony.
I also remembered a few minutes ago that the WT has told the witnesses that if they are given too much problem by the authorities, they can talk to the citizenship people and if need be, the witnesses can write their own "statement" about what they can do - eg. be good citizens, follow the law, pay taxes, stuff like that. But that it's up to each witnesses to decide if they want to write such statement in replacement of the the oath.
