I loved learning that any religion that had a man (or better yet, a COMMITTEE of 8 men) telling you what the Bible REALLY says is a racket and a snare.

It is a nail-biting time, watching the mail. Hoping for a good 'catch".
It sounds like he is on his way--whoever wins the bid on him.
I am happy for all of you.

The Last BOE!
by Atlantis inthis is the last boe we will be able to provide.
our informant or source, was caught, disfellowshipped, and thrown out of bethel.
we knew that sooner or later the watchtower would find him out.

Brave good man. Yep-- I don't have much but loose change--but as Quelly says--we'd help him/her. Let us know how much we appreciate him/her.

NVR2L8--Great to get free!
OMG.
FL-P, I don't have the time today to say more than this: STICK AROUND.
Read everything you can about the Organization. If you don't care about what is true and what is not--it might not bother you to stay in. But the micro-managing is absolutely destructive. and the effect the WT has on family life----RUN, RUN, RUN! There are horror stories here.
As I said, stick around, for your own good.

Just saying "Howdy!" Sounds like life, Mr. flipper. And that's a good thing.
But about your mom, that's the hard part of it all. We do what we can, don't we?
Take care,

Did you make stuff up without realizing it when you were in the 'truth'(TM)?
by punkofnice inrecently, since my d/aing, i've heard the same old cobblers has been said to and by my family members.
(more than likely referring to me).. ''jehovah(tm) will judge.
he knows who will survive and be destroyed at armageddon.

Making stuff up?-----It happens in all churches that teach there will be a massacre at judgement day by the ALL-LOVING God and his son.
If you can't understand how a loving father does this then you start to rationalize and figure ways around it somehow.....or somw people just know how crazy it sounds and will lie about what their church teaches.
I gravitated toward every possibility that God would be merciful and fair to people who had done the best they could in life--but I know that was not the sales pitch we were trained to give.."Sincerity is not enough.." is the way I learned it. "You can be sincerely WRONG."
It took me a long time to leave this lie. And yes, I made it (the WT version of "Truth") seem kinder than it was while I was one of its peddlers (pedlars for you Brits, Punky).

My JW sister left JW husband
by umbertoecho inafter years of looking down on me for not being "in the truth", being told (more or less) that my daughter died because i did not have the "truth" and therefore god's approval.
my sister has, after forty years of marriage and fifty years of being in the truth....left her husband and her dis-fellowshipped son and gone to live with our other sister (who by the way is disassociated).
i am amazed at this turn of events, as i have always been led to believe that they were a fine example of how complete and spiritually protected they were as a family for being in the jw religion.

The recipes for happiness don't change just because you are a Witness--nor do the recipes for unhappiness. JW just blind themselves to reality. And suffer in their dark exclusive silence.

Head covering for women--how did you feel about this? Men? Women?
by humbled inthinking about how this felt awkward to some of us women when a bible student noticed something was "up" if a baptised brother sat in on a study.
had to reference 1 cor.
11:1-16.. i wonder if this irked any while you were still in?.

Blondie!!!!! I love it! Beautifully, eloquently, silently true.
Now, these years after, I wish I could re-do my final meeting with the elders. I would drape that thing over my head and pray for deliverance....
