  here's one: To serve god and let nothing come between you and him, wouldn't you have to make sure your alegiance was first to him and then to your church/synagogue/religion?

  Isn't it presumptuous to let ANYTHING come between you and God?

  Rwandan stories.org is less text and has more first person accounts and video. It has a stronger expression than anything I've seen on the history, the genocide, the perpetrators and the victims/survivors.

  It is worse than a natural disaster by far.

  Of biblical proportions for sure--tribal and thorough.

  Has your son-in-law been back to rwanda? Neither would I be able to say "forgive" unless I had been in it too.

  But they themselves are saying it, doing it.

  The survivors have a particular forgiveness they are sharing throughout the rurals to deal with the scars in the communities. Don't they have to live on until a "natural" death takes their life? Your son-in-law may have some of the mental scars that those present during the massacres have.

  "Rwandan stories" contains the stories of how the Rwandans are dealing with the incredible violence that stole everything from them--estimated 300,000 CHILDREN murdered. He may know of the work ongoing to heal some of the psychological suffering that has followed.

  Skeet shooting is a gun game with a redundant name. Skeet I believe means "shoot".

  It's a practice for bird shooting that is a game in itself, I think. The gunner skeets/shoots at clay "pigeons"--clay discs that are rapidly (mechanically) sent sailing through the air. He/she is not selective, shooting them all if possible.

  that's what I (mistakenly) thought you were doing. Glad to hear otherwise.

  cofty, You have been so ferocious that it wasn't until your last snarling post that it is clear that you actually are sifting through theist comments instead of skeeting them as they flew into the thread.

  I am in sympathy with the sufferers of 2004--the personal horror of others is something I have taken to heart often--we take others in, 2 homeless women, 2 Cambodian families from the aftermath of the Vietnam War, and others. I say so that you don't think me cheap to say this: the Boxing Day deaths were no more the horrible because of their numbers, cofty. The deaths caused by the tsunami or the deaths by violent-other-means.

  The woman holding her dead girl will have the same question of god even if the 249,999 were spared: where were you?

  That question is every bit as valid coming from one as from 250,000.

  christ, the end times and the imminently soon to come armageddon, all bundled together.. .. this religious organization like so many others established in the united states was unregulated and had.

  no upper governing control over its daily operations.. they proclaimed and taught what they wanted to or needed to sustain their operations as a publishing house.. .

  Dear Dog,

  the sure evidence that you have the mind of christ is to be thrown out ot the organization for simply stickingup for a low-status person who said they wanted to read the bible instead of parroting the "literature".

  My friend and elder couldn't say that a t the first committee meeting at which this was the topic. he always said that he had the mind of christ as his focus. But when I asked him in front of the other elders if I had to read the answer from the bible or from the Book of Bible stories---He wouldn't even answer.

  Not the mind of christ--and he was the best elder I ever knew or heard of.
