there was a disfellowshipped jw that came to the witness now for jesus convention in pennsylvania.
we all tried to show him the error of the jw way but he is just so blinded that he couldn't understand what the problem is with jws (can you believe it?!
) we tried until we were blue in the face and it seemed that with every step we went forward with him one day, we went back two the next.

What utter pish (a polite word for crap) this guy talks. On the one hand he says he knows more than the average man or woman, and on the other he repeatedly uses the word Hippocrite. Hello, if he cant spell he should use a dictionary, or maybe this is a new religion he is trying to promote the Hippo's C Rite. As for sorting his life out with a view to going back to the JWs, its his head he wants to sort out.

Ok I have thought about this a bit more. As I am having a day off and have to much time on my hands, I have concluded the following - (in case of a libel suit, this is in no way intended to offend and is purely the sad and twisted humour of an English person, and just that,this one being me, not the whole nation) And I am sure the rest of Great Britain apologizes for my huge insensitivity and I will be arrested and banished to the dungeons shortly. So here goes
THE REASONS WHY EUROPE DOESNT LIKE THE AMERICANS
The Germans - Because you helped us win the war.
The British - Because we needed you to help us win the war.
The French - Because of of your dress sense
The Italians - Ditto, but they dont mind you that much.
The Dutch - They dont mind you to much either, they are a very liberal lot
The Spanish - Because they'd like the Caribbean back
The Portugese - Because it was them that started the slave trade and nobody remembers
The rest of them - Because you have a tendency to talk quite loudly and we like our afternoon naps.
It is all meant very tongue in cheek and I cannot apologize enough for my evil and twisted humour but if I can redeem myself at all I am also
sending huge amounts of European Love to you all.

I can only speak on behalf of myself, but having being born and raised in England and having mixed in all the various social, economic and cultural communities within this country I have to say I have never experienced any form of hatred towards Americans or the USA in general. I have visited America myself and loved your country, and the few people I met were impressively upbeat and nice. Only yesterday we had the final day of a reality TV show called Celebrity Big Brother, where the British public vote throughout the early stages for contestants to be evicted from the Big Brother house and finally on the last day vote for who they want to be the winner. This is after the contestants have been in the house for 3 weeks, there every move and word monitored and shown on TV. I am not really a fan of reality TV but this particular one hit the news big time because of the apparent bullying/racism toward one of the contestants and it kinda got me interested. Anyway yesterday was the final and strangely the last Brit out of the house went out in 4th place. 3rd and 2nd place went to two Americans, Dirk Benedict and Jermaine Jackson and the overall winner was the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. My point being that we the British public voted two Americans into 3rd and 2nd place over about a dozen others (mostly Brits). So it seems we can hardly be accused of hating the Americans.
As for the rest of Europe, of which I have travelled to most of, hatred of America or Americans has never been glaringly obvious and, again, is not something I have ever experienced. But, perhaps they are all 'closet' anti Americans.
I dont mean to sound flippant of your thread, its just that what you describe, is not how it feels being this European.
The only thing that I could safely say is that the Europeans are aware that we are better at football than the Americans. (Is that what all this is about really) Hee hee

Yep..........I should be in bed, its 1.15 here but I fell asleep this afternoon after a bit of a heavy night last night and now I am wide awake and my creative juices are churning (That and the fact that husband is playing on Sniper Elite) But we do both have the day off tomorrow so its not to bad.............

Sparkplug cool letter and you just know the receipient must have been deeply touched. I have a friend that says so much is not said at the moment it should be said and I think this is along those lines. And it is a reminder to all that life is short and we should not hold back from letting those who touch our lives in whatever way and for however long know our feelings for them.
