i was taking to grace (mouthy) on the phone today in canada.....what a sweetheart she truly is.. we have decided to put ourselfs out for adoption.
since i have lost family members because of being a jehovah's witness for 52 years and since many here have lost wifes, husbands, children, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, and of course friends.. we have decided to put ourselfs out for adoption...............grace told me today she would be happy to be your grandmother to all that would like to have a grandmother..........i would love to be a father to anyone who would like to have a father.........that no longer has one.. we have this to offer to all...........the most important thing a parent, grand parent or friend can offer their child, grandchild or friend........and that is, unconditional love to all.......you are all perfect.the love that real family members may have is conditional.......but true love never is.
we are here for you all.............and anyone else here on this board that would like to be a grandparent parent, father,mother, sister, brother or friend ............. please let all here know now.. as the italians say "familia"...........we are family!........we are here for adoption.
Mouthy - I was just kidding. I think you make a great grandma, I would love to adopt you, am I to old at 40????

i bring this subject up because personally i dont get it.. i have noticed that some posters use words such as 'evil' or 'stinking goats' to describe the view (either their own adopted view or that of the jw org) they had of worldly people whilst a jehovahs witness.. the reason i find this difficult to understand is because i never felt that way toward 'people of the world' whislt being a believer of of the teachings of the jw organisation.
and i didnt pick up on it being rammed down my throat by the org either.
now i wonder if i was ignorant of something, not paying enough attention or if it is just each individuals approach toward life that makes the difference.. what were your views of 'people of the world and why?.

I can most relate to iamfreenow response; I took the terms used like 'goat' to show the difference between gods people and the rest, at the time it in no way caused me to view non JWs as evil and I certainly never felt hate or dislike for them. It would be true to say that during my childhood years, my dads business resulted in my having a considerable amount of association with people of the world, and therefore the impact of JW teachings was probably diluted for me; but I also wonder if certain countries or areas have a more 'laid back' approach to life and that this in turn effects the view they take on things, whereas some take things to the letter, as being very precise and pointed and as such act and think in a more severe manner.
This is not meant as criticism toward any nation or group of people, but just an observation that for some their memories of time served include a much harsher opinion of those of the world.
My experience of those in our congregation and in general in the UK was a pretty similar approach to those in the world.
