  Walk a mile in that persons shoes..................

  I dont know how many of you were once devout believing Jehovahs Witnesses, but for those that were, perhaps you can empathise slightly with the situation this couple found themselves in. I have been there and know exactly how it feels to have a prem baby and be faced with blood issue......................it is completely shitty..........my own experience was like having my heart pulled out of me..........and it was the worst dilemma I have ever faced. My son was given blood transfusions and in my heart I was pleased beyond words, sadly he didnt live.

  What I do find amazing is that they are now pursuing this ridiculous claim and can only think that they are being actively encouraged by the WTS and this Brady chap. It seems bizarre to me.............I would just be grateful at for the lives of my surviving children. Very, very strange!!

  Ricky Gervais did a book with him and someone else (my memory fails me) but basically it is just them talking about stuff..............and some parts of it are hilarious........would recommend!!!!

  for all of you who may not know this is britains biggest horse racing day.

  i actually know a jw who is going ..................i dont know if you can get into trouble for just going and not putting a bet on.. .

  Strange but true...............my dad was a national hunt jockey and rode 5 times in the national, fifth being his closest finish, then a trainer, then a JW, gave up training because he became a JW but when back to it in the 70's and continued being a race horse trainer and JW. He attended most meetings as a JW but was never given any privlege's and remain a baptised publisher up until his death in 88. He ceased training a couple of years before this because he had motor neurone disease. He never gambled whilst training which is I think how it got away with being both. So I was raised in the horse racing world and as a JW, interesting combination and I loved the horse raising bit and got bored with the meetings.

  I have backed Mckelvey for this afternoon.

  How do you guys know that standing firm won't work

  so, many of you have rightfully challenged my beliefs that standing firm and telling your families exactly what you feel about the wtbts won't work.... i submit that it doesn't work becasue we don't stand together!

  if all of us would stand firm say what we know to be true, do it publically, and not back down then i guarentee you there are many in the congs that want out of this crap and their just too scared to do anything becasue they don't want to lose their families.

  in my family there are many that call me privately and tell me they know the wt is a crock of shit but won't stand up against it!

  The problem you may have is that it could be viewed as persecution and actually strengthen some peoples faith. You can sure the org would put a spin on it!!

  since we have heard many bad names for humans lately in the media, i thought it would be fun to hear what we call our pets..... i have two large male (one in tact) dobermans and they are called an answer to: lovies, darlings, gooies, babies and bad boy loves.. what do you call your pets?.

  Thinking of writing a book

  i've been contemplating writing a book called "from the other side" .

  basically a story about leaving the jw's.

  only instead of focusing on what's wrong with the jw's (not that i wouldn't have a lot of material there!!.

  Hi Dawn

  I have software package designed to help people when writng books. Basically for a non fiction it advises that you break down into chapters titles first and then set out a goal that you wish to acheive for each chapter. For example, you may be thinking along the lines of

  Chapter 1 - Thinking of leaving a religion - you could include you own experience, those of others, the reasons why people consider leaving a religion and reassurance that the reader is not alone.

  Chapter 2 The Fear - To include al the anxieties people face when making such a momentous change in their lives, and again reassurance that others have faced these fears.

  Chapter 3 Breaking point - The best way to leave etc

  Chapter - Now you are free - The challenges faced and feelings you have when you are first seperate from the religion.

  There are many more ideas for chapters that I can think of, Shunning, Making a new life, New friends, Learning to trust again, Getting help freeing yourself from the mind control you have been subjected to, Family members still in the religion and how to deal with them, etc, etc
